this is my 100th YouTube broadcast of Late Night Noiz For Late Night Fiends!

i posted this in the videosynth thread with a lot more info but wanted to link a bit of info here since this shows the LD3 being used as controller.

editing and implementing the CC control tracks is so easy!

LD3 was sending clock to video modular rig, switching video channels on a V8, controlling an ETC and an Entrancer.

i wanted to do something a bit over the top so i tried putting together as many sources as i reasonably could at this point in time.

14 video sources.

noiz and control provided by:
- Little Deformer 3
- Nava Extra 9
- norns x3 - Cheat Codes, Time Party, NC-01-Drone WRLDS
- Dark Energy
- Double Knot V2

----

GREAT NOIZ!!!

I was asked by a viewer to explain the Little deFormer 3's audio bus system, so I made a quick video walkthrough :)

This reminded me that I had wanted to ask for a setting in the BUS ENV menu that bypasses any bus volume modulation, so an option that keeps the Bus volume at the maximum (or at the BUS LEVEL value). Right now I can only select the bus' own follower envelope, a part envelope or follower x2 or x4. This means that there will always be some volume modulation when I want to use a bus follower. Or am I missing an option here?

Also, I think the touch screen button for BUS LEVELS should be called "Blv" and not "Flv", right?
Thank you very much for making yet another super cool video!

It's a great idea adding an "OFF" position on the ENV page, so it is possible to use the follower for modulation only. Will have a look at this.

When looking at the names of the BUS sub pages, I actually think that most of them look cryptical :hihi:
I will have a look at this for the forthcoming update too!

A Big yes to adding OFF as an option on the ENV page!

OMG! Yes!!! Routing buses into other buses directly without the “output to input“ cable workaround would be super! :D

This would let one put an analog filter after insert FX or even on the “main output” bus.

Ha, I was going to ask if something like this would be possible. :)

On a related note, could an option be added to route external inputs to a pair of busses, like you can do with Parts? I've been achieving the same thing by splitting an external signal to two inputs and it would be nice to be able to to it in the LD3 itself.

Two reasons you might want to do this:

1. Feedback experiments. Route a signal from an external effect to two busses and send one of them back into the effect.

2. Use Bus Levels as aux sends to hardware effects. Send a signal from a Part (or two external inputs) to two busses and route one of them to an output/effect. This is quite flexible as you can end up with everything from a 100% effected signal to no effect and all ratios in between.

I'm sure there are many other things you could do too, especially if you can send busses to other busses!

Is there a slew circuit/ filter in the delay algorythm ?

You can insert a filter, and any other effect, in the delay feedback loop, by using an audio bus.

Oh cool, i thought it was just the delay output, not in the actual feedback loop itself!

Is his filtering or inserting things into the feedback loop only possible on the output fx? for example if I want to smooth out the clicks in the delay on an insert effect with a filter is this possible? Thank you

Also apologies for the multiple posts, but the comparison chart for gotharman gear says that ring modulators are planned for the LD3, this is something that is quite high on my list of priorities i dont know about others here.

You might already be able to achieve some kind of audio rate amplitude modulation effects with the bus follower envelopes. Set a follower as a modulation source of a VCA’s level parameter. Can’t try it myself with my LD3 at the moment, but go ahead and see if you can come up with some cool sounds and report back :)

I don't know if a facebook post is an adequate format to post music made with gotharman's little deformer 3, but at the moment that's the best i can do.

This is a track made exclusively with the little deformer 3, one take, no edits, no eq-ing, no mastering.

and yes, ld3 is a device with unbelievable capabilities.
