Meng Qi Wing Pinger

Image

"Your link to organic analog texture, rhythm, noise and melodies.
Travels between chaotic and tonal passages as fast as your emotions shift.
It encourages fine playing gestures and rewards practicing.

Wing Pinger is an analog musical instrument, centered around a pair of 4-pole resonate low pass filters.
Surrounded by a network of comparators, pulse converters, binary counters and shift registers.
Despite the absence of oscillators, it's fully capable, and actually designed to generate sound on its own."

Yes it sounds really cool
Also the wedge reverb on hainbach video is super cool with this synth.
If the wing pinger is less then 300 pounds I might buy one

Damn it's a lovely instrument.
Would buy this too if it was around 300-400$
Love how chaotic it can be. I would love to pair this with the jomox t-res

Really lovely. I like that it's almost some kind of tuneable blippoo. I think I'll get one even if it's costly.

It's pretty too!

YES !

I'm using my VQVCF 99% for pings because it's so good at it, I would love to have a dedicated instrument for this !

At first glance, it looks very... Dutch.

The sounds are totally different.

I don't think we even have a hint currently, unless I missed something.

I have a feeling it'll be costly but not crazy high but really I have no idea

The device reminds me of something like a Benjolin but different.

I have no bananas :ripbanana:

Haven't seen any news on this in awhile, and I couldn't find the Meng Qi shop on Etsy. Does he still have a shop there? Hope he's weathering all the coronavirus hoopla okay. I recently picked up one of his hand modules and liked it so much I ordered a second one. :goo:

Ditto.
The creative process is hard to predict under the best circumstances and even in a normal year things are slow this time of year due to Chinese holidays. Kind of randomly looking for a clue today (Feb 7) I see the PCBWay web site says...
"Dear Customer,
Due to the domestic epidemic situation, the production at our factory will be postponed to February 10th. All online services on our website, such as online quote, file review and customer service are available as usual."

Not much of a hit actually.
