An MPC! Always wanted one, they were too expensive.. By the time I could afford one, I decided pattern based sequencing sucked and I HAD to have a DAW to create. Fast forward 20 years later the MPC replaced Logic Pro 4 months ago here. Still haven't gotten the hardware yet, paid about the same for the MPC Studio that I could've gotten a 2000XL for, but the Studio/Software does soooooooo much more.. Getting a Live as soon as I can to go computer free except when I need to pretend I have a 24 track 2" deck with Logic..

Samplers too heh.. Seeing Akai's for $3000 in the late 90s meant I was NEVER getting one. Nowadays those things are everywhere. Just bought an Emu E5000 Ultra at 2am this morning for less than $300 heh.

Wtf?!! :woah:
a high stakes job .
Ah! I see.
It’s not that crazy. With the piecemeal nature of eurorack, shit adds up before you know it.
I lusted after a Cwejman S1, but thought it too expensive ... so I started with some eurorack. Really don't want to know how many S1s I could have bought by now :help:

That was one of my dreams as well. I went through B rack, Polar TI, C, Snow TI and now have a Indigo 1 which I ended up keeping cause I keep buying and selling Virus synths...and the Indigo 1 I got for 370€...crazy when you consider how much it cost when I first wanted it.

Came so close to drunk-buying a Wavestation EX a couple of weeks ago, but started to question my nostalgia...
Good call. My Wavestation didn't stick around very long. It sounds pretty cool, but you could make a pretty solid case for the VST version with that one.

Owning one was kind of fun for recognizing presets from songs and soundtracks of that era, though. It was obviously pretty popular back then.

That's easy, D50 and M1. Not that I have any sort of affinity for them, but they are synths I couldn't afford in the day, and now they're two-a-penny.
