You would seem well placed to provide sound comparisons with the Jasper...

initial impression...
the JASPER is a lot warmer sounding than the BASP.
(yeah...i'm going to call it a BASP) :P
the BASP seems to be have an edgier/brittle sound in the upper freqs.

more noiz soon and i'll try to post a vid over the weekend.

^ Curious how the Jasper compares to the original? Possible the BASP is more on point clone wise and Jasper is just a bit warmer and refined sounding?

Good point - comparison to the original is the most relevant one.
Where have I seen you before?
Same place you saw me, I expect.
I've got a good face for memories.

In the 1970/80s, it was called a 19" rack. :hihi:
It is too bad that they didn’t include the distinctive keyboard that the Wasp had.

Behringer (or someone else) needs to come up with a small keyboard / inclosure that you can mount one of these clones (Model D, Pro One, Wasp) or the Neutron into, as it would be nice to have a small complete synth to carry around, instead of having to worry about a separate controller box and cables.
Just add a $300 Arturia Microfreak and you'll have the keyboard plus pressure control and an insane digital synth voice.

edit - oops looks like that will be a bummer since Basp is only Midi in.
FS: A-140-2 Dual VC ADSR, Erica VCA 2, SP-555 Sampler and more - CHEAP!!!

Wow, bummer. I hadn't noticed that. Assumed it had CV/GATE like all their other clones. With their euro case coming, it's bizarre that it lacks the patch points of the others as well.

Hey there -- looks like you've set your two BWASPs up in Poly Chain mode. Have you tried changing the Note Priority via the SynthTool application? I have 2x as well (successfully set up in Poly Chain mode), but while it appears I'm able to switch to Lowest note priority in the SynthTool app, the behavior stays stuck on Last not priority on the synths (even when changing both units directly via USB). I've opened up a service chat with someone at Behringer about this but we haven't solved it yet; was curious what your experience has been.

Thanks!

lol, I'm confused. Is there an inside joke I'm missing? I'm just a fellow knob twiddler, but I do like long walks on the beach :cloud:

Sorry if my post above was a bit stiff? Just trying to be precise :)

sorry...no comparison vid yet of the JASPER and the BASP...however...tonight's installment of Late Night Noiz For Late Night Fiends used all three WASPs.

the JASPER handled the lowest freqs with the other two handling the mid and upper noiz.

hey ya!

actually...no...i haven't tried that yet.
(didn't even know about the SynthTool app!)
that setup in the pic is me using them as a stacked unison voice with each of the three WASPs handling different freqs for an erratic bass part and some drone.

however...i did discover that the BASPs would crash if they are sent polyphonic MIDI messages.
:foul:
i was playing around with some different scripts on norns and one of them attempted to send chords.
then i noticed that both of the BASPs quit making noiz altogether even after i switched to another script.
turned them off and then back on again and they were back to creating noiz hell.

Oh man! Looks like they've got a lot of bugs to iron out.

I heard back from them, they said it's a bug in the SynthTool application which they've alerted the software team on. Hopefully will hear back from them soon.

Man, an 8 voice wasp would be crazy cool. I know these kinds of setups aren't super practical but look how cool it was when Oberheim did it!
