What the hell is that on the wall? Looks like a huge synth with built-in speakers. Could it be a show floor prop?

Sounds good enough for my use. Instant pre-order.
That’s insane...

Whoops, didn't see that was already answered!

About the Wavestate - looks fantastic..., especially if they open up adding your own samples :hmm:

Will there be an option in the System menu to add a high-pitched whine to the signal chain, thereby emulating the original Wavestation's noisy display? :hihi:

Talking to a couple of music making friends, this is seems to be a HIGHLY divisive synth. Instant want to some, biggest MEH ever to others. Whichever camp you're in, from my perspective Korg is to be applauded for revisiting this form of synthesis in hardware hardware form.

I am in the middle. It is definitely not an "oh I have to have that" sort of thing for me. It is an "if they come out with a module I will consider it" thing.

I am still fence-sitting on the Minilogue XD module. There are just too many other more interesting (to me) modulation monsters out there. The damn thing is the price of a single high-end Euro module but I am fence-sitting on it.

Considering the fact that google "neural" synth was actually a wavestation style synth under the hood (according to multiple people I know who took apart the code), there's obviously more to this than 90s new age sound. I recently bought an Ensoniq TS-12 because I love the sounds, unfortunately, I am moving soon so carrying around a giant 80+ lb keyboard isn't going to work. Anyway, I was looking at a wavestation A/D and, I still want one, but this honestly looks super exciting.

Preordered, couldn't resist any longer  Now the waiting....

If they ever add sample import I'll be overjoyed, but if they don't I think I'll still be very very happy.

haha oh yeah there is
turn off/down any post- fx and decays, wind up the bpm to like 160+ and run the output through some drive circuit(s) for different flavors of distortion :headbang: ...well, it was fun as fuck when i was 22 yr old raver lunatic, anyway

Agreed: this form of synthesis deserves hardware representation.

It's odd, though... I've steadfastly refused to sell any existing keyboards to fund modules; now the Wavestate comes along and I'm suddenly looking at one or two of them in a different light...
It may stop, but it never ends.

I have been dreaming of this for seriously a decade... never did I expect it to actually happen and become a reality, especially in the era of 'analogue overload.' Thank you Korg for not putting an analogue filter on this. However, the 37 key form factor lacking aftertouch - on synth like this is unfortunate... but that's what controllers are for, and I'll be one of those suckers who will be buying it immediately to make waiting, to purchase the module, tolerable. And I'll be a happy sucker! :sb:

I agree. There's no need on a wavestation.
Besides, to have an analog filter per-voice with 64 poly it would need as many filters, plus D/A & A/D conversion before and after every filter...even with SMD it might not fit in there.

Would have been nice if you could have the decimator between the oscillators and the filters, that way you could better approximate 80's gear like the Mirage or the VS. Maybe a later firmware revision, but I'm not holding my breath.

Exactly. $500.00 USD who cares. Bite or wait. For the dough it is a killer.

Yes, exactly why I am happy they did not, because then it would have been limited to one layer and 8 note polyphony which would render it useless as a digital synthesizer to me. I was getting so sick/jaded of the "hybrids" being limited by the analog filter thing... can't make multilayered swirling clouds of psychedelic euphoria with those limitations. :sb:

This is one of the reasons I hate these "Day 0 Media Embargo-Lift Youtube Onslaughts" the hype train always runs nowadays! Out of nowhere we get all 15 big synth channels announcing new kit with in-depth reviews as though it's on store shelves tomorrow, and then inevitably it's months off. Just sell me shit when I can actually buy it, and piss off until then. :bang:

Yes, they did. I pressed for clarification because some sites said it was supposed to ship by the end of January. Sweetwater’s had always said a couple of months, but I had hoped that was just an overestimate.

Well, to least they don’t take your money ahead of time and simple tell you it should arrive soon...

Well - it's my product, and if it's actually delayed, that's news to me.
