Here are a couple of factory sounds I've programmed for the Pro 3:

I'm in love. It's got some MASS to that sound.
Heft would also be a good word. I like it. A lot.

So with 3 oscillators, 3 filters, and 3 freely assignable envelopes, this can technically be 3 voice poly with full articulation with some programming, no?

My initial impression of this is I really dig it. From the sound samples I’ve hear so far it has a bit of heft and grit I haven’t heard from other DSI/Sequential synths. I really liked the Pro2 but something held me back from purchasing it, can’t quite put my finger on it, but I ended up going Dominion 1. I think at the end of the day I just liked the core sound of it better than the Pro 2. The Pro 3 sounds great to my ears. I actually like the look of it, the standard version, not the wood. I def miss the second ribbon, 2 are better than one for sure. But I appreciate the Audio In which is a feature often missing from Dave’s stuff.

I’d love to see this platform expanded to a new Prophet 16. That would be a real beast.

Some great sounds in there. How would you say it the oscillators and filters compare to the Pro 2?
Thanks! The oscillators are completely different. Oscillators 1 and 2 are VCOs based on the Prophet-6 (with added shape mod for all waveforms) and oscillator 3 is digital featuring analog waveforms (sine, triangle, sawtooth, pulse, super saw) plus 32 sweepable wavetables plus an LFO mode.

You'd need 3 filters of the same type for standard fully articulated polyphony. According to a Sequential employee only one filter at a time can be used. I'm guessing the filter EG just retriggers with each note.

They probably won't do it, but I think a module of this would be absolutely incredible. Maybe in the 1,200 range? It would be a no brainer to sell some modular and get it at that price.

Perhaps no need to thank you again Paul, but just wanted to say that I have listened to Nasty Waves and a couple of the other ditties far more than is necessary or sane tonight. So again, many thanks for sharing!

this looks super hot, fixes everything that was holding me back from a pro-2, and my analysis paralysis re prophet vs ob6 filters. I wish it had a bigger kb though.

e: does anyone know how the filter routing works, is it just one at a time or can you use 2 in series?

The Pro2 was quite a nice synth, sold it, but had fun with it for a while.
Looks like DSI take on the minimoog with a modern twist with their cross matrix for modulation and the recycling of their existing filters.

Not interested, but I can understand the appeal. Now I guess designing a monosynth in the 20th century is a bit of a task to make it relevant, different and exciting...

i guess that magnificent sound comes at the expense of the aesthetics :foul:
I can definitely hear that Evolver DNA too! The classic 4 part sequencer and "secret sauce" tuned feedback.

I went through some tough financial times when the Pro2 was released so I missed out on that one, but this one has me pretty excited.

I like the design myself. Yes, it's clearly a nod to older synths like the Model D, and they seem to have abandoned the original P1 panel flow completely but it's pretty much a straight line from left to right.

Normally I'm not a big user of sync mod but dual sync with wavetables sounds pretty tasty to me!

Yeah that seems like it’s closest competitor with the VCOs, sequencing, modulations, filter options, CV ins/outs, etc. But still unique enough to make me want it in addition to the MxB!

I don’t think it looks that bad , I actually prefer the regular look one though.
Price is ok too, I think I’m still more interested in the Argon 8 or maybe the Nordwave 2
