Cool. I don’t know how many I will need, I will be done building my new studio space in 2 weeks or so. Hoping these will still be available then.

Approved the final prototype last week. The first batch of stands is being manufactured, this week.

Hardware has been ordered. The rubber cutter dude is lined up and testing the first sheets this week hopefully.

Below is a photo of the latest version. The base is much more stable, and looking rather slick IMHO lol. ;)

Moving right along!

The first batch of DeskStarz have been cut and formed. They are going to the powder coating shop tomorrow! :hyper: If everything goes according to planned (because everything always does lol), I should be shipping stands out by the end of next week. Fingers crossed!

These look really nice. Question though.... Height (equipment depth?) is adjustable to three settings but is the angle adjustable? If not what is the angle in relation to a flat desktop?

BTW just got one of your Hex cable hangy thingees today. Once the Mic stand arrives I'm well on my way to more organized patching. Thanks for that fer sure! :hail:

I'll get you some numbers tomorrow. Pitch is not adjustable though.

Glad you're pleased with the cable hanger! :)

Adding to the question pile-on: what’s the height underneath? Could I hide a closed laptop underneath? And can you put something on that’s wider than the stand, like a 104hp Eurorack case?

Thanks.

Definitely could fit a laptop under there. I have a quarter inch patch bay underneath one of the early prototypes. You can see it here https://www.instagram.com/p/B9TKOuhhxh ... 2n3akell8n

The stand is very sturdy. I probably could have used thinner steel but felt like I’d rather it be overkill than under. lol But you could hold a 104hp rack, like a Mantis or something comparable. But I’d recommend a case with a flat bottom, so the bottom ledge can hold it well enough.

The stand is 20” and 1/4” wide, and the platform is exactly 8 inches deep. Max height is 7” and 7/8”. The pitch I believe is about 40-50 degrees, but will have to check.

Looking good! :tu:

A small suggestion: If those are standard black oxide button head capscrews, they rust really quickly in many parts of the USA. Typically you dip them in oil and wipe clean, but then they're shiny and 'wet'. And the oil doesn't always do much to stop the rust anyways. But if you dip them in melted paraffin candle wax, and buff when cool, it works pretty well.

They finished the powder coating on the first batch of stands, today. Just waiting on the die cut rubber pads, and box labels now. I expect to be shipping these out by the 31st. But preorders are going fast!

While you're at it, how about some views of the other height positions?

I was responding to the new docs you posted. Assumed those are meant for use beyond this thread.

Oh, you mean create a design showing the different settings?

Yes. Meant to show the full capability in alternate smaller views on your existing example docs.

As of now the first batch of DeskStarz have been cut, formed, and powder coated. Michigan was put on lockdown just a couple days ago, so... I haven’t been able to pick them up yet because the shop has them, and hasn’t been open.

We are also waiting on the rubber die cut padding. Which are now being done in New York. As you may know, New York (in particular) was hit pretty hard with the COVID-19 outbreak.

So it’s understandably going to be a bit longer still. If you’ve placed a preorder, I appreciate your patience during all this craziness. The plan was to ship these all out by the end of the month, but... with the current situation with our "global pandemic" and all. Manufacturing has obviously either halted or been much slower than normal.

I will continue to post updates here, and in the blog section on the eurodesk-z website. Thanks again for your patience and understanding. Please be safe and stay healthy.

Kind Regards

Jesse McClear
