i think it looks sweet
no slide though? gotta waste the LFO for that?
wondering if the retrig rates can be selected as LFO destinations as well-- that'd be neat!

You could rename the topic to the product name so we have a dedicated thread for Model:Cycles.

Some of my patterns
Joey I know you've been given this and its your job to big it up. But the general sound is cheesy, ignoring the clipping, it's not even musical?
nah bro, you killed it. have to grip it now.

I think it sounds good and it has many cool features like parameter lock, micro timing and conditional triggers. You expect this from Elektron stuff but not from most other manufacturers. At the same time it isn't a full workstation so hopefully it's quick and easy to work with. Nice price too. Slam dunk, imo.
New modular track! My first in six months. Messy and unglued.

Where has the beautiful Elektron aesthetic gone?

Case design reminds me of an old cash register.

I bet the answer is yes, but.. can you p-lock machine choice and p-lock presets? Haven't gotten to watch reviews, been driving around all day

I'm with you here. the step for being a (limited) workstation would have been small. As I tried to take the :Samples apart lately by doing a remix with stems on it I figured out that the missing feature for being a workstation is a song mode. (There is the pattern chain function but a) it's volatile so no option to save here b) it's clumsy at least for my fingers and c) it seemed to me you cannot loop a pattern for the desired multiplication). With a song mode the boxes would be little workstations but I'm not sure if the beauty that is lying into this is the pattern based ephemeral state of playfulness.

(...for the remix I made me a cheat sheet for the running order and time of the patterns and did play it by hand - pattern after pattern - which was quite nice in the end.)

Sounds great, good price. Looks like absolute trash though. I'm not sure why they couldn't design something a little better.

Still probably gonna buy one!

There's a couple of places locally that still have old tills very much like the one pictured (always a card scanner next to it though). I've been ogling the keys on those things lately to be honest.

I don’t mind the aesthetic to be honest. Also quite like the latest Elektron designs - MKII, digitakt, digitone...

I like the aesthetic of the register. I find myself taking pictures of early electronic tools just because the color scheme is so beautiful.

Of anyone has a GC coupon you can use it to buy the Cycles on their website. Was able to snag one and use a 15% off coupon they had emailed me. This looks super fun and versatile. Cant wait to work it in with the rest of my Elektron stuff. Should fit right in. Amazing amount of power at such a good price point. The resell prices in a year are going to be ridiculous.

Can I send midi signal from CV to MIDI CC converter like ADDAC221 to Cycles?
http://www.addacsystem.com/en/products/ ... s/addac221
Then I can use euro modules to modulate Cycles...no?

If so, any recommendations besides ADDAC221?

Big Thanks!

...haven't had much time to play around with my M:S yet but I already know I'd use it as a dedicated drum machine more than anything else....adding the M:C could be like adding the synth...pick up something like an sp-404sx and I'd have a pretty powerful drum/synth/sampler/sequencer setup for under a $1,000 and save some cash....especially since I don't make music as much as I use to...no reason for me to buy a bunch of expensive shit for it to just sit there most of the time.
