Streaming gear, setups and tips

Post by anselmi » Thu Mar 19, 2020 1:27 am

Trending topic I guess...most people are streaming sets from their homes
I never did it before but always wanted to, so this could be a good time to start

I just saw the IK Multimedia iRig Stream, that seems to be just an audio interface, so I wonder if this product and other related have something special that I´m missing that makes them better to perform streaming in Instagram or the like

Advice welcome on products, setups, connectivity and techniques (if there is such a thing)

What was the :75:? I’m struggling to find anything cheap that works with macOS. Just shipped back the razer ripsaw that is windows only.

I'm using:

This [Headset buddy], 20 bucks from *.*

With this:

The thingie thats you charge while listening to music did not work. Proibably spent a hundred bucks in cables, [some lost then found] scoping this out.

With 10' 1/8" male to male for my "this is the cheapest iPhone you can buy now" iPhone 8. I use an adapter to plug it into the headphone out of Logic via the XR-18. I've done a few live-streams from the radio station with this while providing ambient background music for The Dream Journal, [discussions of dreams hosted by a NASA astrophysicist-turned dream therapist.]

I'm both a bit dumb and lazy though. This gets good-enough-for-me sound without a lot of expensive single-purpose gear. At the big station in SF I saw some Roland video mixers [a while back] that I am guessing would do the same thing.
