2x Tempest. I wonder if one is used more as synthesizer and not a drum machine.

Thank you! Very impressive bit of kit.

And looks the part too in this type of live setup. More so than say, an Analog Heat.

Looks very impressive, but the Analog Heat is great if your on a stricter budget.

That and I'd also appreciate it's portability when touring (considering I'd have to lug my own gear) versus the Niio. But damn, it looks, spec and resulting sound are fantastic.

https://schneidersladen.de/en/niio-analog-iotine-core-4

It's not too expensive but AFAIK not really suitable for stereo use on mixes since the channels are not identical?

btw. Who is the act?

Not too expensive for what it is indeed.

Funny, I saw the two Tempests and thought, is that Karenn live? Apparently that one video I watched ages ago stuck... (:

I guess it's one of these (TL Audio Ivory 5052 Stereo Valve Sound Processor) -

... why buy it for $100 when you can build it yourself for $150?

Nice bit of bit. From the Sound On Sound review:
Pros
*Competent mic preamp.
*Versatile compressor with side-chain access.
*Separate peak limiter.
*Musical EQ section.
*Balanced channel insert facility.
*Digital output option.
*The possibility of a digital input option in the future?
Cons
*None.

For single channel processing it really seams great. Digital input would be super cool.

Benjamin Damages uses the Niio Core as well in his against the clock :

I remeber him saying something to the extent that if you don't have any idea what to do live you can just run your kick / drum machine through it for a while until an idea pops up :)

First is a friend which is working as producer for national radio, second is my own observation of auction and third are threads on gearsluzz.
The common sense I've got from there is like a strong' either you like it or not' scheme while the group who like it seemed small.
Sorry to lazy to dig all these threads about lower range eq through...

Ample signals to launch an investigation for those interested into the matter as far as I'm concerned. Thank you!

The Ivory series 5051 and 5013 had a very audible noise floor. If I remember correctly (was using them in uni) the Ivory series uses a lower 150V HT rail than the higher end, high anode plate (HT) voltages of around 250V that the VP-1 uses.

They are "ok", not bad not great, they are not expensive so you get what you pay for.

TL Audio Ivory series is mediocre piece of junk.
Despite the fact that they had nice gear in the past (classic valve series).

So better not to stick to it if you're not planning to perform modifications.

That's the EEF Modular, a rare 80's beast from Belgium. https://greatsynthesizers.com/en/genera ... nthesizer/
