Korg Mono/Poly Filter pedal (MS-01 alternative)

Post by kragg » Mon Mar 23, 2020 5:47 pm

Hello,
I am looking for an alternative (or a clone, or a DIY project) for the Korg MS-01, which is a pedal sending voltage to the filter input of the Korg Mono/poly (and should work for the rest of the MS series : MS20, etc. As well as the Korg Delta and others).
I am pretty sure such a thing exist (after all, it's just a powered expression pedal sending voltage), but i haven't found any so far...

According to this it’s 0 to +4V or 0 to -4V

The DOD FX-17 puts out +5V which you could attenuate. There are also trim pots which tweak the volume and wah breadth. I’m not sure if they affect the CV at all.

The Moog MP-201 lets you dial in the max value but they’re pretty pricey since they were discontinued.

The DOD FX17 : I didn't know that pedal, thank you.

I also found a video of a guy showing the clone he built. It's a very easy circuit from what it seems (the biggest challenge being finding an enclosure shell).
