Ouch. Trying really hard not to say anything bad about that demo.

My expectation was the same (expansive/round/silky), but that is not to say, I dislike what I'm hearing (which is subjective in and of itself. Mate.anselmi wrote: ↑Tue Sep 15, 2020 9:51 amhighly subjective, my friend...I expect more silkyness from a synth like this, so this this bright oscillators and the steiner filter resonance hits my ears badlyVoltcontrol wrote: ↑Tue Sep 15, 2020 9:45 amThe demo is certainly on the bright, couldn't detect the harshness (but then again years of DJ'ing have definitely dulled my hearing range). I do like it. Moawrrr demo's are needed!

it can do complex sounds for sure, but so can the Rev2 and offers more voices for less money...and to my years the Rev2 sounds better
anyway, I still preffer the Super 6 as a poly for its audio quality...for me it´s hard to beat and it can do a lot of complex stuff too with a more direct interface

the one and only Nick with a preview
Re: Arturia PolyMatrix / PolyBrute coming?
The morph stuff is really cool. But am I understanding this correctly?: Morph is in bi-timbral mode, right? So that seems to leave us with a whooping three (3) voices. Okaaayyyy.
Somebody must have been thinking “6 voices is practicly like 8 voices, just cheaper.” Only, when the grand innovation (and yes, it is cool) is the bi-timbral morph, then it is about 3 voices vs 4 voices. And that difference is litterally gigantic.

The morph thing isn't crossfading between voices, it's interpolating all the parameters... so unless I missed something somewhere, no, morphing doesn't restrict polyphony.

Very nice. 8 voices would have been better, but 6 is better than 4.
I think it sounds really good and the modulation is there.
The morphing seems like instant fun for sound design and going bat shit crazy at the turn of one knob...with some thought between A > B patch, seriously complex and consonant/dissonant tones will jump out.
I don't even like Arturia, but they appear to have struck gold with this one.

As linked before 2500 here, they state 400 off MRSP on their site so that checks out: https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail ... ynthesizer

I’m growing less fond of this thing with every demo I’ve seen so far sonically. Morph is a great feature and do like the matrix + it’s stereo nature.

It actually looks like a fun, interactive synth. That morph feature is neat, and the “Morphée” (Touché) controller is an interesting addition. Like the very subtle ribbon. Still there’s something about the sound of Arturia stuff that has held me back from purchasing. After watching reviews I’m not like “omg I need this!!!” All these years later, even with 6 voices, I hear an OB6 and melt. This, not so much. Maybe in person will be different. Summit Peaks my interest more (see what I did there?) and I’m loving my Hydrasynth. Can’t wait to give it a whirl and see.

Re: Arturia PolyMatrix / PolyBrute coming?
yeah and like also a ton of other synths too. so many polys available right now.
TOO FAR GONE
Re: Arturia PolyMatrix / PolyBrute coming?
The PolyBrute seems to sound so good
Re: Arturia PolyMatrix / PolyBrute coming?
I'm a little shocked they're pricing it against an OB-6, I would have expected about $500 less.
