What are you using for synth module desktop stands?

Post by daphnid » Mon Apr 20, 2020 11:05 pm

Hi, I'm looking to get my Nord Rack and 606 off the desk for space and cable management/ergonomics. Most laptop stands are too deep and tall for where the 606 is sitting on my desk and I need something that will let cables pass underneath. Any recs? What are y'all using?

Konig & Meyer 17580. It's a guitar stand! Cheap and works great.

https://cremacaffe.shop/ stuff looks great.

Laptop stands you'll find in DJ shops are also perhaps a good (and cheap) option.

I use Ikea laptop stands for the keyboards and a DJ laptop stand for the 808. A velcro tie keeps the cables together

I have laptop stands exactly like the ones pictured. They are too tall/deep (as I mentioned in the OP)

You can change the height on most of these type of stands, changing the depth is a very simple diy job I'd say..

I use the catchily named Isberget tablet stand from IKEA for my Erebus V2, it has a decent angle. It would probably also work on wider items.

I realize that, as said I own these. The lowest height is too high. To shorten the depth you'd have to cut off the lip which keeps the module from slipping off the front. Not a simple DIY job if you don't want it took mangled, unless you have access to metal working tools.

K&N Omega table stand. Added a third tier for desktop do-dads.

Instead of starting a new topic, I hope it's okay to jump in here. I'm looking for something below. But instead of being a tier of part of a bigger stand, I'd like to be able to find one that has clamps on the bottom that I can attach to the back of a desk. Any ideas? Thanks!

These have been great.Wide range of motion. Holds my OB6 perfectly and it's not exactly light weight. Have another for my Deluge. The base is low enough to my tempest and Bass Station to sit over while having the OB6 and Deluge hover above. I LOVE THESE STAAAAANDS.

$2 decorative plate holders. I'm not joking. They're not super sturdy to wail on but if you just want something propped up at an angle they're fine.

I just got a KVGear Adapt Stand L2 yesterday and used it to create this setup. I'm using the 13" connecting tubes (it comes with 9" by default but it's only a few dollars extra to get a larger size), and their large expansion shelf on the upper tier to hold the two Boomstars.

I ordered one based on your tip and it’s a great stand for my euro suitcase; thanks!
