Silent 220V -> 110V transformer

Post by PacificState » Wed May 20, 2020 3:27 pm

I moved from the UK to the US a few years back, and have 2x Yamaha MSP-5 monitors and an ancient but beloved KX-88 controller keyboard which need 220V without a way to change input voltage (or, none that I know of).

I have a transformer that's beefy enough to handle the three, but it hums madly (actually, I have two of them and they both hum, so it's presumably a design issue) - can anyone recommend a box that's silent?

Thanks,

Neil

I have a couple around here from when I bought gear from Europe. I'll plug them in and see how loud/quiet they are.

PM me. If they're good, you can have them for the cost of shipping them (I'm in Maryland)

ACUPWR is the best I've tried. You'll need a step-up transformer. https://acupwr.com/pages/voltage-transf ... converters
Preamp collector
