$99 Behremin anyone?

Looks like Behringer want to do a theremin, first renders on the Behrimin are now on their FB page, and they are targeting a price of $99 for the finished device, will have MIDI/USB, and pitch/volume CV out as well as a standard audio out so it will be able to control other synthesizers.

I wonder if the pitch antenna should be fix for stability reasons but for that price it seems to be good entry option. Nice retro look.

but for $99 I´m in...good feature set, and honestly, I tried theremins in the past and I sucks at playing it properly, so I can´t justify more than this money to get one...the extra sound controls, delay, MIDI, USB, CV out and quantization will be key to me to give it a use

Yeah, not digging the Trump gold, either. However, I don't have space in the rack any more for the Doepfer theremin controllers, so this might be a tempting out-of-rack option- it they can maintain that price.

(UK price often subject to buying a new PSU too, half the time Behringer give UK dealers european PSUs, it can drive them a bit nuts.)

YEPPPPPP. I thought the same immediately. I like the folding pitch antenna on the B but it's absolutely stealing the color palette. I'd never seen the gold antennas til Moog announced the Claravox last month.

Certainly thought they insta-ripped off the brass/gold color of the antennas, certainly. Even if it's present in the Wavefront models.

My guess is it's a regular sheet-metal antenna in the physical behringer mockup and they used photoshop to match the Moog colors in the teaser photo.

These things, generally, are incredibly hard to play. I wonder how the performance specs are on this thing. For $99.00, we will find out.

This is an incredible performance but agree- for so many a theremin would be fun but not accessible for 1500. That performance though is unreal...

As long as there are CV outputs I might buy it for only that. Really liked the dual Doepfer A-178 Theremin Controllers I had in my Eurorack system and it's a shame I only recorded a few tunes before departing them, as I really liked playing with them! If finances allows I might even consider getting two of those...

Edit: Now to think of this I get pretty excited about it, don't really like Behringer practices but cloning the Theremin is okay for me!

hell yeah, behringer owns. theyre killing it honestly, im getting one of these asap. what, behringer isnt allowed to make theremins? no need to do some sort of backhanded compliment here, behringer is making great gear affordable.
