What a strange thing to even copy at this point. No layout or feature changes, just a 1:1 copy with a few different buttons. Even B fans aren't having this from the comments on there. Creepy videos overall. Someone has got to tell this dude he comes off like a cheesy sci fi villain in all these.

Or totally believable... but still disappointing how shameless this is. Especially when (it seems to me) there is a clear gap somewhere between the Keystep and Keystep Pro for a 2-channel CV/Gate keyboard sequencer that could have been a unique product.

I mean, they even kept the fucking micro-USB port. If they could of at least replaced that, so they can say they did it better. But no. /facepalm

Is this more of a publicity stunt ?

Yes, that was my first thought too- please don't copy that, it's the worst feature of the Keystep...

This just seems so weird to me... I have a KeyStep; it is quite good. Unless they are getting it down to like $75 or less at a substantial profit, I can't think it will net them much.

Doesn't make any real business sense. Another vote here for publicity.

The only way this makes sense to me is if their next move is to make a four track expander (without keyboard) for their version of the KS - which would definitely be interesting (because it would be compatible with the KS/KSP and steal market share away from Arturia). That would be a killer product. But in any case, the Arturia products already offer Behringer level value for money for what they do (the KS a bit less than the KSP), so B is competing against its own market segment here, which doesn't make that much sense imo.

If you have better distribution channels and/or marketing reach it most definitely does (unfortunately).

I want to believe there has got to be a licensing deal here with Arturia. B leverages their supply chain economies of scale, and A gets a royalty of some kind for the design. But I don’t know of any precedent for this kind of thing, so the idea is more far fetched than the straight up 1:1 clone we see here.

I know from a 100 % reliable first hand source (German Arturia distributor) that this is not the case.
... why buy it for $100 when you can build it yourself for $150?

Both Arturia and Behringer have just 'badged up' an off the shelf product of the German company design box who produce keyboards, controllers and interfaces for quite a few named brands - so not really a rip off, just a commercial arrangement with a 3rd party

Which OEM would this be?
