Re: Behringer VCS3
So heavy on cut and paste of someone else's idea it cannot even be called a synthesizer any more.

Yawn...
Same argument, every time. Have you got anything new?

Re: Behringer VCS3
Behringer is not the B from early 00s that was mark of musician's poverty.
After the era of noname designers they asked to help pro guys like AMSynths, Mos-Lab engineers that understood how the synths should sound.
Of course, it should be multiplied like *0.x because of cheap components to be in the B-paradigm - Be cheap but know new clones should a lot more musical. If you concern about original/imitative thing ownership or top-quality furniture/materials and affordable - it's another difficult question. When I was 12 I have no problems to wear sneakers labeled: Adibas, Reebook and most memorable Mike slippers.

Who were you talking to? Or was it another of your copy/pasted pro Behringer posts? (that looks nothing at all like shilling, honest

Anyways, I wonder if they put a spring reverb in it. They didn't in the 2600 rep, and thats a key part of the sound of these things.
Re: Behringer VCS3
I wonder why, When they were designing the pin matrix from scratch they didn’t go to 20?

Re: Behringer VCS3
They are sticking to the original 16 x 16 matrix as per VCS3. At least it's the Mk1 matrix they are using with every waveform
being available. Unlike the Mk2 matrix where wasn't possible except on Osc-3.

Could you imagine?
I’m not usually excited about new products but this has me excited.

Re: Behringer VCS3
I really have no way to justify getting another synth, but the briefcase synthi was the first synth I ever played with when I was thirteen or so and I’ve never forgotten how magical and mysterious it seemed to me at the time.
Re: Behringer VCS3
That was me with the vcs3. Seeing it I realized how much bigger it was than I thought it would be. And then the sounds! Like you, I thought it was full of witchcraft and wanted one immediately. I’ve never seen the suitcase other than the internet. Like you mentioned above, if the price is right I’m having it.

Re: Behringer VCS3
If the circuit board below the prototype cabinet is what they are going to use, it will eliminate the wiring harness that makes the Synthi/VCS3 so time consuming to make. It looks like that one would just mount behind the potentiometers on the panel. The other boards for the Behringer VCS3 would still need to have wires, ribbon cables could be used to connect various components in their "knock-off" of the VCS3.
Re: Behringer VCS3
It's the idea that people like to hate Behringer up until the point there is a product that they have been wanting an affordable version for ages where they just go Fuck it I'm having that. I'm just glad there are cheap synths around that aren't piles of crap. Oh and proper weighted keybeds with real metal weights, both my MS-101 and VC340 have keybeds like that, not a touch on my S2 but that's a completely different price bracket keyboard.Luap wrote: ↑Thu Jan 14, 2021 7:42 amWho were you talking to? Re: Behringer VCS3
historically they haven’t really put much out that costs that amount or more so id say its safe to assume it will be. i got my 2600 for $550 shipped...when it ships that is.

TOO FAR GONE
Re: Behringer VCS3
This is a good thing. A 20 x 20 matrix is not that critical since waveform availability is the direction they are going.Portland-Bill wrote: ↑Thu Jan 14, 2021 8:13 amThey are sticking to the original 16 x 16 matrix as per VCS3. At least it's the Mk1 matrix they are using with every waveform

Re: Behringer VCS3
IM SO EXCITED I was even eyeing some of the synthi threads last night with sadness and have been for years...
I would pay 3K for a synthi or VCS3, if this is under 1K I might buy 2...
