i bought a bejolin and a motion computing j3600 tablet running windows 10pro. it has an i7, 16gb ram, a great form factor and a way cool docking station... it runs all my expert sleepers stuff as well as my alyseum ms-812s from the 64bit plugin ‘copperplug’ as well as my several al-88c... basically my whole studio. i can make a part and then record it to audio, move on. i updated mutools mulab to v8.5 recently as well and am running the 64bit DAW on my new tablet. awesome sauce!

oh i ran this debloating script and now win10pro is spritely!

I've never seen pickups like that. Are they bridging over the strings? How do they differ from regular pickups?
It's just a cover, pickup is in the normal position.
Voltcontrol is right, if you look at old pictures of P and Jazz basses many of them have the ashtray cover set over the pickups and the bridge. They look like chrome coverings on classic 50's cars and this was really about look more than function ultimately. They do tend to get in the way but look swanky to me. Laura Lee of Khruangbin keeps hers on her SX jazz and plays fine around them.

It's been a long time since someone wrote a really good book in jail.

Oh wow, I assumed they were just for storage protection or something. Damn that looks pretty awkward, I guess it wouldn't take long to get used to them. Every bassist i know plays right over the pickups.

Those are some fine looking instruments in that video though. Vintage strat, drums and mic's too?

Antibiotic pills for my bunged up middle finger. It's hard to play guitar or keys if one finger hurts every time you use it.

Just ordered:

It looks pretty darn cool as an inexpensive, interactive little jam machine.

I got an additional Gotek for my Emax I keyboard, along with two 3D printed plates that screw into the top of them that hides the ugly gap above the drives. I also replaced the display in the EMAX II rack with an OLED. Looks much better.

Decided to get a couple of BoredBrain Splix along with some 3.5mm to 1/4" mono cables (been finding myself needing to convert some...).

The Splix look handy for when you want to make a smooth transition between different audio sources or perhaps CV... I see the former more than the latter. (Of course it can work the other way as well and send a single source to different routings...)

I love that you can get them in different colors which then you can color code to what they may do.

Grabbed a wow and flutter pedal for the lyra 8 and a drum sequencer from Erica. Both arrived shockingly fast. Four and Three days on each.

Snagged a couple of PCBs for a pair of Wilson Analog Delays. Time to do something useful with my remaining stash of SAD1024s.

Will do! Got some time off work tomorrow. Recorded some sessions when I got it, will sort through and post what sounds good in the Lyra thread.

I REALLY dig these guys. I mentioned them to a bassist friend of mine whose musicianship I really respect and he went absolutely bat shit mad at the mere mention of their name! He started spitting nails. It was a really strong reaction; negative in case I haven't made that obvious. He went off on a massive rant. It was really, really bizarre :despair: He just thinks they're totally fake, totally hyped, don't deserve any attention etc. It was weird.

Mackie CR1604 is finally showing up tomorrow. I’ve been holding off on cleaning up all my wiring and this thing has taken forever to get here.

Of course we mustn't argue about individual tastes but this is… well, yes, what is it? :despair:

I like the Cosey Fanni Tutti hairdo of that bloke, though.

It's just a well executed groove/jam. It's not gonna change the world, but it doesn't have to. imho.

I guess it was the strength of his reaction! If I don't like something I just feel indifferent towards it. It doesn't get me foaming at the bit :woah:

This one. Used to be made by Snazzy FX but Erica took over a bit ago. Really great build, solid as a rock. Was hoping for the time yesterday to edit some sessions and convert from cassette to post in the Lyra thread, but some new DIY stuff arrived early and the iron called.
