Sonic Core Xite 1D: http://scope.zone/

When one of my 20 year old PCI cards died on me recently I figured I have to get an update.
I bought my first Scope system because computers didn't have enough power, and native plugins didn't sound nearly as good. But it seemed obvious that in a few years CPU's would be fast enough, and hence quality would be improved, and Scope would be pointless really.

Where there are some really great VST's nowadays, and I can run lots of instances of Diva in 'divine' mode on my computer, for sounds where you want a really fat and dense sound, especially bass, I still to my surprise find Scope superior.
And just love the modular combined with ES-3 and ES-6 to get latency free integration with eurorack. While the price is not exactly cheap, if you look at it as the most powerful eurorack module ever, it seems like a bargain :)

In the last month an MPC X, Rainmaker, DLD. Lost as in kaput an A-190-3 MIDI module.
Also a 35 by 12ft poly tunnel, a 18 by 12ft fruit cage for my ‘prepper ’ impersonation.

Haha! I suspect it's the amount of room it takes up on the (his) bed rather than the synth

Fairlight CMI.
I saw one demoed at a trade show when it was brand new. A bunch of audio techs crowded around, smiling a lot.

Got my replacement knobs for the SPL Charmisa 8 and Transient Designer 4. The original knobs were made of this soft rubbery plastic, that starts to degrade after years and become very sticky. The support confirmed that issue and they stopped using that material long time ago. My Charisma and TD are soon 20 years old, time flies. It was time to swap those sticky knobs. Now they use hard plastic, that won't degrade over time.

A common problem.I found an old phone in a draw a few years ago. The rubberised coating had done exactly the same, and also smelt terrible! Isopropyl alcohol seems to work in removing the stickiness, but it comes back within a few months.

Yeah, my Aiaiai headphones the same. That sucks badly. Could be replaced, by buying a new one. Awesome customer friendliness 😉

My zoom H4 does that, it's horrible, like covered in glue.

I've also found Naptha (aka Energine, aka Zippo Lighter Fluid) to be an effective remover of various vinyl & other sticky residues. As always, test it on a small area before going nuts with it; but it's given me very little grief down through the years, even on some finished wood surfaces.

hahaha... my new knobs are off by 90° clockwise. This is how it looks when they are turned fully counterclockwise

I wrote back and they apologised and admitted that they had sent the wrong knobs. The correct knobs are already on their way. Support said they ought the be the new aluminium knobs. Looking forward to see them.

Bought a 2HP Logic off NewNewRon - it arrived yesterday and will get added to my NiftyCase today or tomorrow when I can find a little time.

Just got a EHX Super Pulsar ...
In my experience, satisfying or interesting tremolos are difficult to obtain in synths using on-board LFOs routed to VCA level or individual OSC levels.
The Super Pulsar is loaded with functionalities and features.

The correct knobs arrived. Aluminium knobs... they feel awesome. Never again those pesky soft plastic knobs, that will become slimey and sticky over time.

I don't know about that, but it makes sense to get something older when newer stuff has less features.

I love the Super Pulsar. Great for rhythmic gating, panning and more exotic tremolo stuff. I connect the tap tempo to a Selah Quartz v2, along with some other tap tempo based pedals, so that I can sync them to MIDI.

This.

- so that I'm going to stay more at home where my studio is

- to get the next date comfy when getting to know each other

Added a couple of new records and a Octatrack MK1 for below 700 $ to it. And now I'm ready for the next lockdown with a new girlfriend, a dj mix as well as a live-set to prepare. Happy camper I'd say!
