Audio Damage Replicant seems worthy of mention here.

The list is good already.
Bt you may try Tantra : it's a great multiFX unit, with stutter/repeater modules, filters, bitcrushers, ring modulation... and modulation galore.

second that, I like to put tantra on a send channel with a few other effects. Usually the results are interesting.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Tantra reminds me a bit of Camelspace but looks a lot deeper. I may have to check that out.

Cheers!

I use Audio Damage Automaton and like it. However, my main glitch tools are Fabfilter Volcano 2 and Timeless 2. My tracks has tons of each and tons of automation to turn them on and off.
An exclusive, all Alesis Ion track! The best synth ever made. :guinness:

I enjoy beatgridding my audio clips/tracks by transients in ableton converted to a midi channel, assigning however many of those transient points to a key or pad and then go from there banging out the glitches manually and adding appropriate effects where necessary.

If I need to glitch shit out, I still do it by hand in a wave editor. Copy and paste random bits, bit reduction, time stretch, reversing, and every combination of those. It's long and involved, but still my favorite way.

Some spectral/FFT processing is cool for glitching sounds, but the "by hand" method still reigns supreme. For me, anyways.

Reviving this thread as I have a hard time finding / deciding on a glitch plugin. I am looking for a buffer type, not a sample player.

I just want to use a glitch device that will do stutter / beat repeat / fx on a return track or assigned to a group of tracks. Both for rhythmic stuff (deconstructing beats, think Lee Gamble or something) and sound design (drum textures). What would you recommend?

So far the one I liked the most from Youtube was Glitch Bitch, but the fact that I need to buy a USB key to authorize it is definitely a downer. I am also very close to purchase Reaktor 6 as it's currently half priced, I guess there would be that kind of stuff inside?

Free and not free stuff both welcome. By the way I am working with Ableton Life 10 Suite.

Thanks for your advice!

ABleton's own Beat Repeat is already good, isn't it ?
Else, you can give Audio Damage Replicant a try, or Dblue Glitch2, both are awesome.
Also, Dsches Tantra is an amazing multi-Fx with a glitch module and some powerful modulation system using step sequencers.
If none of them fit your needs, you can try Melda Mrhytmizer or ImageLine Gross Beat.
(None of them require a usb dongle or an ilok)

"ABleton's own Beat Repeat is already good, isn't it ?" = I miss FX and sequencing possibilities. I'll look for those you recommend, thanks!

the sugarbytes is the most complete all in one glitch plug but it is also the most cliche anachronism used by no talent hacks. similar to ableton beat repeat. you can sequence the different effect on/off buttons in sugarbytes with midi on off note messages. this is why people throw random midi sequencers in front of it.

there is something in ableton M4L that is better than beat repeat. some kind of audio sequencer that is similar to beat repeat. I can't remember the name and I already uninstalled ableton. ableton sucks. no true mono support. no good sample editor.

To answer the question about Reaktor...
:hail: Reaktor for it’s glitch/buffer/beat-warping ensembles (plugins within the plugin)
And as far as Turnado and Effectrix AND StutterEdit the hack uses are immediately recognizable because they all have their own character when it comes to the way they sound and effect audio...But the argument can be made that if you use the presets strictly for reference and design your own to compliment your own sound you will find that they still have a very inspirational weight. That being said, having owned most of them and realizing they were becoming a bit stale and after moving to Bitwig (from Ableton) a few years back and buying that license for Reaktor...since then I rarely use anything else but those two and I have built a very proprietary and very custom arsenal of psuedo-similiar (to the afforementioned fx) devices/presets/modulation/generative/sequencing and subsequencing tools that can open portals to other universes of sound with a midi note or control change message multiplexed to different channels within the software and within my hardware modular synths and I still feel like I’ve barely scratched the surface...
Conducting a condensed cadence of cloistered comb-filtered cicadas to a caustic crescendo in the claustrophobic corner of a coastal cavern, causing a cataclysm of cacophonical consequence, compelling the collective consciousness into compliance...bzzZZZ

WOW! That's impressive! A tiny bit pricy but might worth it. Only thing I wonder, couldn't see any clock synced modulation / fx, which is a must for me, but I'm sure there is.
