Plasmonic: new VST from the creator of Absynth

Post by mt3 » Fri Jan 17, 2020 7:53 pm

https://rhizomatic.xyz
"Plasmonic combines the resonant depth of physical modeling with subtractive synthesis. Our goal is for Plasmonic to approach the depth and detail of an acoustic instrument, while making it easy to shape the sound into anything you want. Its deep modulation capability and MPE support make it very playable and expressive."

It's being crowdfunded on Indiegogo.

They're at 46%.

9 days left.

Now they're at 77%.
$6,165 / $8,000
Targeting June 2020 for a release date.
Presale at $99.

Absynth is one of the only NI products I still use (as an effect) so I’ll need to check this out. Thanks for the heads-up.

So Brian is no longer working on Absynth?? Wonder if he was one of the laid off folk a few months back, or maybe this is why we haven't had an update for it in ages heh. I miss the old Absynth 1/2 days when he was the one doing the tech support on the old Yahoo mailing list. Not really using my computer at all for music much anymore but Ill have to get this anyways. Absynth is the only NI thing Ive kept around too even though I rarely use it anymore, still think its my favorite software synth after all these years.

the kick starter is just a presale. the synth will be released regardless of what the final funding amount is. it's an opportunity for early support, discount price and to show interest. i backed it. stoked to get this thing when it's done.

this is good to know, thanks !

my guess is that the GUI is just a upfront "soundengine-prototyping" GUI, right ?

I actually like that GUI whether its a prototype or not. Its a hell of a lot easier to see what's going on than Absynth's hahaha.
Im curious about the synthesis style though.. Its a physical modeling thingy but I hope the goal and intent is to continue Absynth's style of alien textures and what not.. Id kill for hardware version of Absynth.
