If the full Lemur software were actually available for the Ipad, I'd probably get one.

!

Well, then. It looks like this is the entire Lemur OS, in that you can program all of your own stuff (?). I haven't gotten that far yet.

But it looks like finally then the ipad is no longer a toy. (sorry, but I haven't seen anything before this that really impressed me, other than the interface itself).

It's in the app store now. Seriously debating on whether I should pull the trigger on this. I have controllers up the wazoo lately. But this looks really tasty.

Purchased! It responds wonderfully. I need to get it talking to some stuff in Live now.

Almost instantly I can see how the accelerometer in the iPad would be REALLY cool w/ some of these common Lemur physics

Does anyone know if the Lemur Ableton Control Template (Mu?) is included or coming? If so, I'll totally buy a iPad right now. Been wanting one for a while, but this is the capper.

Looks amazing, however, does it need M4L to run? I don't (yet) have that...

Someone needs to make a 12U panel, that has an Ipad mount and more than 1 midi (or osc?) ports, that get converted to a bunch of analogue outs.

You don't need a computer to run lemur on iOS, you can use the iConnect box and go straight from ipad to midi.

Imagine the power of the lemur interface and sequencing, without the need for a computer. :)

All right so i picked it up, seems pretty cool. Just learning - mostly intuitive, but...
Does anyone know how I need to set multislider for it to work correctly on the mononote seq in numerology?
With touchosc I can learn each step and it behaves as expected with its multifader object, but with this lemur it only seems to want to 'fade' on the 1st step on the lemur template with the equivalent multislider, trying to learn on any other step it does like a weird binary thing. I'm pretty new with OSC in general, but it's usually pretty straightforward, messing with this for a while this morning and am kind of stumped.

poised to buy an ipad as soon as a sale I'm waiting on happens....

I'd appreciate it if someone can remind me, since I haven't been following ipad developments, etc - what is the best way to get midi (someone mentioned iConnect above, whatever that is) and to get good audio out of it?

That alesis i/o dock seems like a nice solution for audio and midi, plus it makes a nice raised and angled surface mke the iPad seem a litle sturdier...

Oh and in case anyone is interested, using the Mu Ableton template DOES require max 4 live. Which happens to be on sale right now as well...

I use the I/O dock and I think its really the way to go..

It gives video out, 2 audio/mic in, stereo out, headphone out, midi in/out/thru, holds the ipad in a locked position and charges.

I use it with my Ipad2 for gigs on a weekly basis.

I got mine for $168 shipped from B and H.. I think their price has gone up, but with a little looking you can usually obtain for under $200

alesis i/o dock

I've heard a lot of problems with it, is it really stable?

You are definitely more familiar with lemur than I.. I've only messed with a friends.. But there are other very nice midi sequencers for ipad like genome... right?

how much more advanced can we get with a single midi out?

Basically if I can get genome for 12.99 how much better is lemur.. if all i am doing is sequencing and aiming not to use a computer?

never a problem here. since day one. Just works. plug and play.

I did hear some people having problems with Ios5 but mine never suffered anything. All the problems involved the audio in. So midi was not compromised

I think that lemur is very much overkill if all you're going to be doing is sequencing. It's possible to build a quite powerful sequencer in lemur, but it would take awhile. There is a good one for available that the guy charges for - I don't know whether it would work on the ipad - or not. But for the most part, the sequencers that I saw are pretty simple. But then, my impression of genome was that it was pretty simple also - but I haven't looked into it that much.

I havent had any stability issues with my alesis idock. sound wise its nothing special beyond the fact that you can get the volume levels high enough to use in a modular. the midi side of things works well.
works for Darkplace Manufacturing
