How about you post the file itself?

That file is in Rich Text format. It has to be plain text.

Hello

Need some advice on checking the firmware version of a newly purchased Disting mk3.

I've tried this:
Turn on the disting with the S knob pressed. It will go through the first stage of its startup sequence, showing the bootloader version number.
but I can't interpret what the lights indicate.

I don't have a Micro SD card yet, so simply loading the laster firmware isn't an option.

Any help would greatly appreciated.

If it's newly purchased the firmware number will be printed on a sticker on the box.

If you like, post a video of the boot up sequence (without any knobs pressed).

Thanks for responding so quickly.

In the few minutes between our posts, I made a video. Before trying to make that available here, I'll try to find the box.

Found the box. 3.6

Time to get a Micro SD and extension cable.

Cheers.

The X input attenuator for the quantizer goes from -1 to 31. What's happening when it's -1?

Same as e.g. the LFO.
the manual wrote:The scale factor is (1+parameter value)/32, so at the minimum parameter value of -1 there is no output at all.

Thank you so much! Love the clocked sample playback! I don't know if my case is fringe, but I hardly ever use stereo samples. Could it be possible to have the the B-output putting out an envelope follower signal based on the selected sample or a trigger on the loop resetting?

Maybe pseudo-stereo weirdness with inverted pitch on the other output? Dual radio music with X and Y as resets? Reversed playback on output B? I really don't know how much muscle is available, but these could be cool for mono stuff.

Ramps or triggers on output B are already a feature - see the manual.

Hi there,

I'm having an issue with updating the new v3.8 firmware. After inserting the SD card with the update, I proceed to turn the module on (with the S encoder pressed down). But instead of getting led's 4, A and B to light up, I am getting A then B then A then B, and so forth. This continues even after I release the S encoder. If there's any further information that you may need to diagnose what the issue is, please let me know!

Have you used this SD card before for firmware updates?

Have you checked the file is correctly named "image.hex" and in the root of the card?

While messing around with my Disting mk3 yesterday in phaser mode (via a favorites file, don't know if that is important) I was not able to switch paramaters by pressing the z button. I could only modify parameter 0 with the S knob. This is a one time thing, and it has worked correctly before. I had the modular on for many hours (>10), much more than usual, and thought maybe that had something to do with it. I turned it off for the evening and didn't restart to make sure it was working again (but I sort of assume that it will).
Thanks!

After the restart it works fine again, and I didn't change modes or anything. Might be a bug.

I'm getting some strange behaviour from my disting on the sample playback functionality after updating the firmware to 3.8 from 3.6 (with which it shipped).

Samples seem to only play back at very high speed in every mode and no control over it seems available. I went back to 3.6 and samples played just fine, attempted a second update only to get the same aberrant behaviour (also in evidence with 3.7).

I'm not sure if this a known problem or if I'm missing something really obvious... I can upload a recording of the behaviour if it helps.
