FH-2 to ER-301 I2C?

Post by bobbcorr » Sun Feb 24, 2019 10:13 am

Hi Os,

I've been following this thread on the Orthogonal Devices discussion forum with interest, and it seems that the FH-2 might also be able to connect with the ER-301 via I2C perhaps via a break-out? I'm curious what your thoughts are on this.

Thanks for your time,

bob

You mean via MIDI, or actually via the native I2C protocol (which I'm not at all familiar with at this point)?

Via I2C using the FH-2 as the MIDI input device. So the chain would be:

MIDI instrument/controller —> FH-2 —> ER-301 via “some magic”

Possibly. It would require repurposing the FH-2's expansion output header.

This is definitely something I’d be interested in, as well. If I’m correct in my assumption, we’d be able to send all possible cv’s and gates to the ER-301 without patch cables, which would be wild!
