disting k8 stereo clockable delay not clockable?

Post by _lampshade_ » Wed Oct 09, 2019 12:06 am

hi little bug report i think, I'm unable to get the clock in on z working on the K8 stereo clockable delay algorithm. the knob works as tap tempo, but sending a clock in doesnt seem to do anything.

love the distings

Thanks

Works for me. Perhaps you've just got the Z knob turned away from zero, adding an offset to the clock?

More K8 questions:

Is there a quick way to clear the buffer (sometimes just rotating the z-knob seems to MOSTLY wipe out the buffer)?

I'm really interested in using the disting as a stereo looper, and I assume the K8 function is the best way to go about doing this. So far a delay time of 0 (not sure what negative delay time is) and a feedback of 32 mostly works. Right now I've been having the best luck by just pressing the tap tempo at the start and end of a sequence, and assume (having watched the video) that you could do this to make extremely long loops if your patient enough for that long tap--or just use an extremely slow clock?

Really just looking for clarification. Work has been super busy and hardly had time to touch my synths.

The disting could really do with a dedicated looper mode.

The delay have the 'Delay time multiplier' parameter so you can tap 1/16th of the loop time, if waiting for the whole loop would take ages.

It does seem like K8 is very close to a dedicated looper. If the disting had an SD looper would time stretching/pitch shifting be possible?
