FH-2 how to use a USB HID Joystick ?

Post by chapelier fou » Mon Nov 25, 2019 7:37 am

I just can't make it work.
I'm using a Logitech Attack 3. I can't output any CV from the joystick controls.
I've set up scale to 4 and offset to 4096 for X and Y as it outputs values from 0 to 255. No luck.
Buttons output nothing as well. Neither does the wheel.
(By the way, what are Rx, Ry and Rz ?)

Does the FH-2 even recognise it as a device?

Does it appear in the count of devices next to the 'A' icon, and does it generate activity next to the icon when you send messages?

Is it even HID class compliant?

What I can tell is that it works with "hi" object in Max/MSP.

If you could grab its USB descriptor and send it over, that might help shed light on why it doesn't connect.

I need the whole lot. Click the 'save output' button in the USB Prober UI.

Thanks. The usage is 'Usage (Joystick)'. The FH-2 supports keyboards and gamepads, which are distinct from joysticks in HID terms.

So it won't work.

Yeah, it's definitely a joystick !
Too bad, do you know it some joysticks (flight simulator) are recognized as "gamepads" ?

Probably not. I'll look into adding joystick support.

I bought a joystick. I've not updated the code yet though.
