Disting Mk4 wavetables question

Post by bemushroomed » Tue Jan 21, 2020 7:05 pm

Os, you said in a post that Disting only has 60kb of RAM so the wavetables needs to match that to fit within RAM.

So let's say i have a folder with 100 wavetables, does this whole folder need to fit within RAM or does it mean that it can have 100 files and each is 60kb (or less) and it will work? I don't mean concatenated wavetables.

To get the wavetables to play in tune, which pitch should i sample my synths at, C or something else?

Thanks. I'll be sure to share them later.

The whole folder needs to fit in RAM.

It doesn't matter what pitch you sample, so long as the wave file contains exactly one cycle of the waveform.

Thanks os.

Seems like most libraries that are shared for it are way too big for it then. I guess it will only play the first 3-4 files for these.

I use Adventure Kids free wave tables (1400+), each one is only 1354 bytes, single cycle

I preview them and select a couple dozen to load on the sd card, 60k is quite a lot of room

Yeah, they're quite good. I can also recommend to just download WaveEdit and you have a giant library to choose from Online.

kind of funny that Disting can handle twice the file size of an E352... a library of single cycle wav's can max be around 30KB for the E352.
