It required using the headphone cue routing
I think you got the tea boy at UAD - that sounds ridiculous! No sane audio interface would require using the headphone cue as the only way of outputting to SPDIF. I would ask again, if I were you.
This was their workaround as direct routing isn’t working for me. I’m still trying to work out why...

Os, when using the various Silent Way plugins with Live, do the left or right sides of an output channel have a designation? Like left for clock and right for gate and/or CV?

Not in general. The Voice Controller defaults to pitch left & gate right, but you can change that.

I finally figured out how to route out of Live directly to the S/PDIF output on my Apollo. You achieve this by NOT selecting S/PDIF as the output?!
Unfortunately, I am still experiencing issues...

Using the same file I sent you (with a MIDI track selected as the input and the output set to tracks 19-20 in Live) I get no signal to the ES-40. However, if I "swap" the left and right tracks in Live (as mentioned in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=35&t=211695&p=2979890&h ... V#p2979890), and turn up the output to +0.1dB (or above) I can see the ESX-8GT's LEDs responding in time to the sequence I am sending, although they do not match the notes I am sending. With this configuration I am sending what was the right track (20) from Live to the left input of Apollo's S/PDIF output. So the ES-40 is now receiving what was the right signal on it's left input.

So is the problem that my Apollo's right S/PDIF output isn't working? Or is it that the routing in Live (19-20) is not matching up with the Apollo's S/PDIF inputs?

Question, if I am only using the ES-4 Controller's "Gates" would/should I see signal on the meter for both tracks (19-20)? Because I only ever see a signal on track 20 (the right side).

Depends which header you're controlling. Headers 1/2 are left channel, 3/4 are right channel, and 5 is both (but probably at such a low level that you wouldn't see it on the track meter in the DAW).

Have you tried plugging an SPDIF cable from the Apollo out to its own in, and sending stereo audio round the loop? That would go some way to verifying the actual SPDIF ports and cable.

Got it, thanks.

Yup, cable was damaged. Swapped it out and I am now seeing the ESX-8GT’s 8 LEDs light up in time and correspond with the sequence! Thanks for your patience.

For the ESX-8CV, I will need to use the ESX-8CV Combiner with the ES-4 Controller, correct?
