Silent Way Voice Controller Calibration Tuning

Post by mr_karlos » Mon Feb 17, 2020 12:11 pm

When using the calibration function in Voice Controller should I tune the oscillator before I start the calibration, if so what is the best tone/freq to tune it to?

It doesn't really matter.

Os, thank you for the prompt reply.

I have found that what frequency the module is tuned to has a great impact on the quality of the calibration.

I have a Klavis Waves. I was getting only 3 octaves range from the calibration. I then tuned it to C3 and found it got a full 8 octaves from the calibration.
I also found that tuning my Plaits to a C3 would improve the results of the calibration.

From the testing I have done it seems that about C2 or C3 is a good place to start. I wonder if anyone else has found this?

OK let me rephrase my answer.

It's almost impossible to predict. Try a tuning; if the result is poor, try another.
