SW voice controller with ES-8 setup

Post by prune » Mon Mar 23, 2020 4:12 pm

As the title says, I'm trying to setup SW voice controller with my new ES-8. I have one (possibly daft) question - to what should I plug midi in to? I usually plug it in to my audio interface, but as im using the es-8, i don't have the option

Create a MIDI track inside of your DAW that has a Voice Controller plugin.

The MIDI track needs to be setup to receive MIDI input from your keyboard.

I am not making myself clear - I have in my hands a midi keyboard, where do i plug it in? My es-8 has no midi input, I can't use my normal interface because I have the es-8 selected

Does having the ES-8 as an audio interface prevent you from using another device as a MIDI interface?

This must be Windows, right?

Actually it turns out to be a problem with my interface... but most probably windows related, yes

thanks
