Sounds like you've found a bug. Might be worth moving this to it's own thread just to keep things tidy.

Sounds like a bug to me. I'll investigate.

Re: Disting EX feature request
I understand that it might not be doable with the SD-card, but it would be nice to have the old Disting mk4 J-5 and J-7 algorithms when in dual mode, for when you want to only record a channel or two and need the other half for other stuff.
Re: Disting EX feature request
Regarding the polyphonic oscillator mode - if it is in development, it would be pretty important to have one of the outputs passing the paraphonic gate from midi, if thats feasible.

Re: Disting EX feature request
I’d like to ask for an Analog Shift Register for single mode. Maybe boring compared to the current slate of single mode algorithms, but there are not too many other options out there and even fewer that don’t have some issues that could be avoided by the Disting platform.
Re: Disting EX feature request
I second that, it's actually something I wish I had seen before buying it, I really thought I could use the recorder + another algorithm !BlackBearDiner wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2020 8:57 amI understand that it might not be doable with the SD-card, but it would be nice to have the old Disting mk4 J-5 and J-7 algorithms when in dual mode, for when you want to only record a channel or two and need the other half for other stuff.
I hope it would be possible in the future. Really nice module still !
Re: Disting EX feature request
I didn't found this thread the first time, so i put it here again
Could it be possible to implement a replace function instead of overdub for the looper (per channel option) in Disting EX ?
with this the looper will be more useful to work with CV and maybe an undo/redo function !? (but i guess it's more complicated and need more RAM)

Re: Disting EX feature request
People have asked for an auto-save feature. I've posted a beta here:

Your testing is appreciated.

Hi Os,
Would midi mapping learning be hard to implement?
I think that would be great feature, but dont know how the coding side of things woyld be...
Thanks!

Re: Disting EX feature request
How would you see that working, from a user perspective?
Re: Disting EX feature request
I'm not sure if this has been requested yet, but it would be handy to have a simple volt meter utility -- just something that shows the voltage levels of the inputs. (This might be better as a request for the mk4 though.) Also, is it possible to implement a little scope? I'm thinking of something like the scope in the Hemispheres firmware for Ornament and Crime.
Re: Disting EX feature request
Settings -> Calibration -> View input voltages

Oh! That's great, thanks!

Re: Disting EX feature request
Hi Os,
Im thinking something like, inside an algorithm, midi mappings > parameter > hold encoder for 2 seconds > screen shows waiting for midi message > you move your midi controller > the algo parameter selected gets automatically assigned to the incoming midi message.
Kind of like its done in ableton?
Cheers!

would be great and setting up midi controllers would be very fast!
Thanks Os

Re: Disting EX feature request
I have been experimenting with MIDI mappings and the looper. It is true that has a pedal like the concept, is like having a ditto X 8, but with way more control and possibilities. Similar to the Ditto pedal is that the effects apply for all tracks, wouldn't it be great, a top-notch feature: to have reverse, half/double, octave, and even lo-fi downsampling implemented to each 4 track looper independently?, even just a dream, the EX is already an ambient machine. I put up some patches to inspire ideas and features.
Cheers.
Cheers.
Re: Disting EX feature request
Reverse & octave down do apply to each track separately (in firmware 1.4).
Thanks for sharing the video.

Hello, true, my bad :( I'm still digesting 1.3. Next backup cleaning I'll catch up. Thank you!
Re: Disting EX feature request
what did Os say in IDOW? something along the lines of "just keeping muffwigglers happy is a full time job"?
amazing service, sir.

Re: Disting EX feature request
I would really love to be able to clock/reset my 2 Voltage Blocks with the disting EX via the Select Bus.
It would allow me to set up 4(!) less cables to clock my VBs. Also I think more Malekko modules would react to this clock.
I tried to see if the module is capable of doing it (with the select bus diagnostic menu) and the VB reacted so it is possible.
My proposal is to add the Select Bus Clock functionality to already existing LFO algorithms.
This way we could have some extra benefits (related CVs) when sending a clock to the Disting.
Maybe if OS is interested he can make a whole new algorithm with clock dividers/envelopes/lfos related to the clock.
Maybe if you have a bigger system with more clockable modules it can be even more useful for you.

Re: Disting EX feature request
So the disting EX would send clock on the the Select Bus? I.e. a MIDI clock message? I wasn't aware that was part of the Select Bus spec.
In firmware v1.5 I added the ability to forward MIDI from the breakout to the Select Bus, so if you send in MIDI clock from elsewhere you could test this works.

Can't confirm it is part of the standard specification. As far as I know though all the malekko modules and some other manufacturers use the select bus to share clock.
I should maybe ask Malekko.
For the test:
I don't have the MIDI breakout, but I do have an ES9 and some jumper cables so this is a perfect opportunity to ask you if it's possible to connect the ES-9 to the disting ex via jumper cables.
I'm aware of the GT2 – MIDI on the ES-9 but not sure what header to use on the disting. GT4/MIDI maybe?
is it possible?
Re: Disting EX feature request
Yes, that would work. The pin-out is on page 75 of the disting EX user manual.
