Greetings,
Can a THAT 2181 VCA be substituted for a 2180? I have looked at the data sheets. Aside from the fact that the 2180 is described as being "pre trimmed" and the 2181 is described as being "trimmable" i can find very little difference between them.
It's to close to call with my limited knowledge of the product so I seek your advice.
I'm building a ADSR/VCA.
Thanks a bunch!

If you are the smartest person in the room, you probably need a new room.

No. Although the reverse is probably true.gtxdude wrote:Can a THAT 2181 VCA be substituted for a 2180?
You need a trimmed part in the ADSR core. So you either do it with a 2180 and no trimming or a 2181 and trimming. No trimmers are provided on the board so unless you feel like adding a trimmer and a resistor or two, I'd stick with the 2180.
