I voted „under $50“, but a PDF would be fine, too!
Awesome!

A keenly-priced early bird dead tree edition with a PDF for searchability as part of the deal would make sense in This Moden Agetm.

Agreed. There will be hardcover, softcover and PDF, as far as I can tell at this point, with discounts for combo. Pricing is going to be based on what the family decides, but it won't be over priced. Things are moving forward every day.

I'm getting the testimonials together... so many people have wonderful memories of this book.

I already have a scanned PDF of it, but I would gladly pay a reasonable price to upgrade to a legit high quality version which has real text that can be searched!

Just posting to say I'll definitely hop on board the kickstarter for a hard copy. I'm pretty new to synthesis and I'm reading the PDF of this at the moment. I like the content but the format is tainting the experience somewhat. Thanks for your efforts!

Is it a really big book? Not sure why it would warrant a pricetag of over $50
I don't expect that it will be anything like that price. It would be if it was going to be a commercial reproduction though. When I started, I thought I'd have to pay a lot of royalties to McGraw-Hill, and they charge a fortune for anything. So I was just posting those figures to see if there was any interest. The family now holds the copyright, through the work of my team (more than me). And they will have final say on the price. But, aside from royalties and some left over funds that will be donated to community synth groups, this is a non-profit adventure, so the price will be/should be, much more reasonable. I've put a LOT of time into this, and I'm not getting a penny. Not even a free copy. And that for the reason that so many people on this forum and others have been so helpful teaching me about synths and electronics, I feel that I've gotten a free education myself. And putting this project together, I'm learning more and meeting more people.

COVID's still slowing things down, but we've just about finished all the 'celebrity' endorsements (including Dieter Doepfer, Tony Rolando, Tom Whitwell, Suzanne Ciani, Todd Barton, Peter Elsea, Serge Tcherepnin, Dave Smith). We're still dealing with some technical stuff with reprinting images, but I'm still hoping for the kickstarter to launch in October (dreaming).

Much kudos for all your efforts from me for sure :tu: It's going to be a smash hit if word gets around properly and it's affordable to most - apologies if my original comment came across rather blunt and ignorant! Can't wait to pick it up

Be sure not to forget the "buy me a coffee" button on the Kickstarter page. I'm sure this will enable you to get your copy plus as much well deserved coffee as you want while reading it  .
... why buy it for $100 when you can build it yourself for $150?

People would have been all over this, even if it was a money-making wheeze, just to have a decent copy of a much-loved book- I don't think I even stopped to question it.

The fact that you're doing it as a non-profit adventure makes it even cooler, and will make owning a copy of the new edition all the more satisfying :tu:

I'm really stoked for this. I was only ever able to get a copy through inter-library loan, and they only let me check it out once every 6 months or so.

Grumble, grumble; I get excited every time I get a "topic reply" email for this, check it, and it's just a "me too".
A modular synthesizer is not a musical instrument; it is a spiritual ham radio.

Eurorack is the sprinkles on the 5U donut.
