I haven’t see this posted over here yet but if it is I’ll remove it.

Someone on Facebook’s Synth Sales & Trades group posted this a little while ago.

Schaeffer might be the 'father', but Parmegiani is the god.

For me, Martin Hannett will always and forever be related to the following quote by Jello Biafra (introduction to "Nazi punks fuck off" from "In God we trust, Inc.")...:

"it's 'fuck off', overproduced by Martin Hannett, take 4" 8-) :hihi:

Sorry for the (slight?) off-topic -it was a classic 'SCNR' .
... why buy it for $100 when you can build it yourself for $150?

My favourite producer of all time. Joy Divisions 'Closer' is a monolithic document to his genius. I know they used a Powertran Transcendent 2000 kit synth for some of the tracks; i used to own one! Doesn't surprise me that he had other kit synths in his sonic arsenal, what a find! Didn't know he produced 'Nazi punks Fuck off' ether. Thanks for posting.

Erm, you got me wrong. That quote probably only was a comment by Jello Biafra, and Martin Hannett didn't actually produce the DK song nor the EP.
German Wikipedia wrote:In die Kategorie Moderne Sage gehört die Behauptung, dass Martin Hannett das Album In God We Trust, Inc. der Dead Kennedys produziert hat. Lediglich bei der Ansage des Stückes Nazi Punks Fuck Off heißt es „Fuck off, overproduced by Martin Hannett“, was wohl als zynische Anmerkung von Jello Biafra zu werten ist.

Roughly translates to:

"The statement that Martin Hannett produced the Album In God We Trust, Inc. by the Dead Kennedys belongs into the urban legend category. It only says "Fuck off, overproduced by Martin Hannett" in the announcement of the song Nazi Punks Fuck Off, which likely is to be considered a cynical remark by Jello Biafra."
