Seq Switch Timing

Post by charliechuck01 » Wed Feb 19, 2020 2:14 pm

Hi there; newb question but I'm trying to get my sequential switch to pause longer on one switch than the others. Or at least to achieve that effect somehow...
What I'd like to do, for example, is the following:
Play several bars of Random Voltage > Quantizer A > Oscillator A
Then switch to, say, Sine LFO > Quantizer B > Oscillator A—for a MUCH shorter amount of time
Thanks!

Maybe use a trigger sequencer to control the switch; when you want it to switch quickly send it a lot of triggers, when you want it to switch not so quickly send it less triggers.

I was able to do it using Pamela's New Workout—to some extent. I triggered the sequential switch with a gate, and set the delay to 50% and the delay divisor to 2 and was able to cause the switch to switch to one i/o quickly but the other slowly... However I can't seem to figure out what settings I need to tweak the timing... When I adjust anything it ends up messing up the timing, or making the "slow switch" switch to the "fast switch".. Switch switch switch switch

Take a look at what you can do with the Doepfer A-160-1/A-161/A-166 combo ... clock dividers and logic is what you need.

edit - I see now you wanted sequential switch. This is more of an electronic switch (only two channels) but ticks the timing box. It is pretty unique.

I think this one will do it. It also has it's own clock which is pretty cool:
