Polyphonic MIDI->CV converters (for MU)?

Post by Sir Ruff » Mon Mar 02, 2020 12:29 pm

I'm looking to control up to 4 voices. I know about the encore expressionist, but what else should I be looking at? Needs to be either MU format or rack mountable. Bonus points if it has 1/4" jacks.

Doepfer makes a 4-voice model, and I think Yarns can do it as well (possibly with caveats re: velocity I can't recall).

ALM makes the mmMIDI which can do 2 voices. Maybe you could get 2 of those?

I guess I should have been more clear--it will be powering MU modules so it needs to either be an MU module or something rack mountable. Euro modules are the only thing that won't work.

CV OCD, as suggested above, might work. It's not a Eurorack module.

moon m552 voltage to midi interface. never used one, but theres a good chance JLR has, might try him for more information, but its probably less than what you want.. I have a .COM quantizer with assistant, but its pretty limited, is mono, but does work fairly well.

Grove Audio have a polyphonic 5U midi to cv unit, not a clue if that could be reversed.

thanks--you are totally right. It looks really nice actually, but I've decided I probably need a second CV output for velocity

looks perfect (i was looking for midi to CV, not other way around) except for above requirement regarding velocity. I am actually eyeing a Frostwave Quad midi->CV unit now. that looks like it probably foots the bill, though it would have been nice to have the converter as a module.

CV.OCD with custom MU panel. Works for me. You'd need a second unit for 4-channel velocity.
