Segue- “I Dream of Wires” (triffic doco) for over 35 years.

I am an old noobie. - This is my first Muff Wiggler post

Decades of noodling starting with an MS20 and Boss DR110, have got me here:

In my shed there’s a Jupiter 4, Rhodes Stage 73, Studio Electronics SE1, etc. etc., but for Christmas I have a Tip Top Mantis happily wrapped in red and green. This has to be fed and I am fully aware of the threat it has on my financial security and marriage, but I feel like Eurorack is a good problem.

As many a noobie before me, I’m starting off with DIY and jamming round pegs on square holes: Sound Machines NS1 (cracker!!!) and a JMT ROV3, among others, into perspex cutouts.

And now maybe a question!

How do I reliably connect 0-5V devices to the Eurorack standards? I apologise in advance if this is the wrong thread - I am just starting.

The Sticky links are excellent by the way.

Greetings, fellow Mantis user! :guinness:

If I were you I'd create a new thread for your question - more people are likely to read it. Soz I can't help you myself. I haven't ventured into the tingly stuff yet. :hide:
Is it finished?

First Rack

Post by Jasonandbecky » Fri Jan 19, 2018 6:17 am

Hi everyone

Bit overwhelmed by the amount of posts and threads on the forum - we're new and just trying to find our way around.

We're after some help on a first rack, but can't post a new thread as we haven't posted on 2 existing threads yet. Not sure what forum section that should even go in, but basically our first rack design is here: https://www.modulargrid.net/e/racks/view/584996

We are trying to put together a Eurorack for sequencing and texture to complement our Moog Mother-32 and Arturia Microbrute which are currently sequenced by a Korg SQ1. We're new to Eurorack, and have done a small amount of research into buying a case and powering everything, but we really don't know if this setup will work or not. We'd be looking to fit it into the Doepfer LC3 low cost case, so we think there would be enough power for all of the modules (correct us if wrong).

Any suggestions for getting the most out of this kind of setup would be greatly appreciated! Would that combination of modules even work? Is there anything major we're missing?

Thanks in advance and apologies for posting in the wrong section if we are...

About two years ago someone in a forum I've been a member of for years and years posted a YouTube video of an electronic machine with cool blinky lights making this crazy music with no one at the controls.

I'm heavily down the rabbit hole now, and happier for it. I'm not at the level of the original inspirational YouTube video, but having very much fun with this electronic universe.

Thanks for making this thread, and forum available! Synthos will live... :hail:

Waiting for my first purchases : elements + iko case.

Strongly considering buying a rainmaker later - looks like a very capable combo

Now talk me out of it, show me it’s a stupid noob idea

Hello friends - I've recently purchased this eurorack synth, and am wondering how do I get sound out of this? I know it's an awful question to ask but what I mean is how do I listen to the sounds this produces? I'm a noob so any input would be great

Thanks![/video]

Just bought my first eurorack case after spending time with the Mother 32 and Microbrute. Already looking into DIY. This place has already been extremely helpful, so thanks everyone.
