So ya, fate sometimes works in mysterious ways. I got a Blippoo yesterday thanks to another kind soul. Still on the list with Rob though :hihi:

Only had a few minutes to mess with it, but man... it's bonkers.

So excited to dig into this and see what it spits out. I honestly expected more similarity to the Benjolin, but so far they seem quite different and the interactions are very different as well. Loving the filter and the motion sensor, sounds so wet and drippy.

Will post up some demos once I have a bit more time on it.

Here's a fun little riff from the Hordijk Blippoo Box. At about 8-9 seconds into the track it finds a little phrase that sounds like, "Party It Up!".

The Blippoo is being clocked via the ENV of a Hordijk modular into the Blippoo's FVC IN. Single pass, no fx and some minimal knob tweaking. Enjoy!

Couple jams from this evening.

Both in the key of what the actual fuck.

Shit gets real on the first one around 2 minutes, but its all good. No patches, recorded dry, no fx, no post

Did this one as I was about to shut things down. Patched a couple things and wiggled away, recorded dry, no fx, no post

Absolutely loving this thing. First night was a real head scratcher, but it's clicking now.

I'm still so damned excited for mine to be built. I'm really regretting that I didn't jump on the couple I've seen pass through the BST recently. But I'm trying to be patient and waiting is giving me the chance to "finish" building my euro system

Not sure if I have an old email from Rob. Can someone give me an up to date email. What is the price of the Blippoo now?

His e-mail address is: rhordijk@xs4all.nl

It can be found here for future reference:

http://hordijk-synths.info/about/

A Blippoo is around 540 EUR but you have to ask Rob about the details.

not LEDS - motion sensors. Wave your hand over them when the blippo is making dumb fart noises and then watch your cat look at you like your an idiot. :tu:

(I usually put tape over them)

I thought I would share something that I have found useful in regards to a plug in and a Blippoo....I have 2. Sinevibes makes a plug in called Drift which is a random phaser/flanger and a vca with panning....each controlled by a separate chaos generator. Since the Blippoo has a constant audio out this is a very nice plug in to get some random vca fade in and out along with panning and filter/phaser/flanger. Put before a delay it imparts dynamics on the Blippoo. I've used it both on garage band and LIVE with much success.

For fast effects on an external synth input I also use Apple's AU Lab - it's great for processing audio and you can have soft synths and audio going on at the same time and record the output. I often set up my serge, Blippoo and Aalto, process them and just enjoy the composite random blipps and bloops for hours, if not days on end sitting at my desk.

Hope this is useful to someone...

Rob told me in April there was a waiting list of 60 and I don't know whether he has produced any runs produced since then. They do come up on BST occasionally. An an alternative you could get a Macumbista Benjolin, a different flavour, but a great playable instrument. (or...both )

FYI: This is what Rob wrote me a year ago when I asked if there will ever be more Blippoos made due to his modular systems taking up all his time. I´ve been on the waiting list since November 2015:

"Your assessment of the situation is pretty accurate, the modular systems take so much of my time that I am not able to organise a new run of Blippoos. The plan is still that as soons as I have the opportunity I will do a run of Blippoos for everyone that is at least now on the waitinglist. As I am still working all by myself it doesn’t look like it may be soon, not even sure if I can manage somewhere in this year. But when I am able to make a run then there will be one for you in the run. So, for now you can safely invest in other gear if that is opportune to you now. My apologies to keep you waiting."

I apparently just missed out on the last run, which I'm actually kind of happy about since I wouldn't have been able to afford it. Excited to hear that another run is at last somewhat planned for the future
