Does this module work with windows 7? I read that its unusable. I would really like to pick one up.

It does work with Windows, but it can have latency issues-the reason is that it uses low-speed USB but forces throughput at a higher speed to get acceptable timing. OS X and IOS allow this acceleration technique, Windows doesn't.

It will be recognised by a Windows machine and will work, timing will just not be rock-tight.

That's a huge bummer. I planned on using it as my go to device to sync tracks up in my DAW so I can overdub via CV.

I find it 'useable' - timing seems OK, but if the USB bus gets saturated with other stuff (wiggling on my Push for instance) it can misbehave.

For the price I think it's a fine bit of kit.

I'm about a year too late! Are there any comparable modules at this price point and available?

Since it is open source you could always order the boards from OSHpark and program the chip yourself if that is an option for you. Of course then you'd need to figure out paneling and all that so it might not be ideal....but i don't believe they will be restocked on Mutable's shop.

Has anyone tried their CVpal with the ZMors modular app? I'm hoping it works, but I still need to build my freshly shipped CVpal.

Mutable have handed over CVPal kit production to Thonk now, the kits are exactly the same components as Mutable shipped, with official Mutable panels and PCBs from the preferred supplier.

I sell them as both full kits and loose PCBs.
