Demo sounds great! For me, I don't think it's a Morphagene replacement. Closer to what I wanted Clouds to be.

I'll have to decide when it comes out whether to swap out my TS2. I am really attached to that thing.

Don't get me wrong, I plan to give VI a serious look, but isn't variable grain shape also available in Clouds via the texture knob/CV? Or am I misunderstanding the parameters of shape?

Sounds like maybe we'll see some Tyme Safari mk1/mk2 hitting the used market at better prices.

Forgive me, i forgot the words “for me”. I don’t currently have any granular modules with a specific envelope shape control so I’m personally excited for this feature, among others. They all kind of share the same basic feature set with some variations and i enjoy the IME workflow so I’m pretty jazzed.

The ADDAC granular module just announced has what appear to be separate attack and decay controls for the grain shape, which is an approach I’ve never seen in a module. But that seems like it wouldn’t allow square or trapezoidal ones.

Anyway, VI seems like it will be great in many ways...

Scott always brings something unique to the table imo.
I dont think VI is a replacement for either clouds or morphagene, since they are special in their own way, coming from special minds.

I have four ime modules, and they all are bananas. So i wouldnt expect this to be any different.

Strange that stillson hammer comes before andore jr though, i thought that was imminent two or three years ago

I am so unreasonably excited for Volkmire's. I'm kind of accidentally stumbling toward an all orange case...

I have an all-orange row (all mkIIIs and a couple others like some of the Polivoks modules, DA mkII etc), but definitely wouldn't mind an all-orange mkIII case if enough modules are around. To go on a tangent I'd very much want an IME filter bank for it even though that's never been hinted at, as morphing presets alone on one would put it far above anything on the market now.

Anyway, it is a bit agonizing considering that the VI may be going into production in only a couple months, yet we still don't truly know what it looks like nor have a specs readout. It seems that we have most of the key info down, but there are other possibilities I'm quite curious to see if it has or not, such as if it can do a unison detune/spread effect on grains (as seen in other mkIIIs like PH and Kermit), or does it have a bit depth parameter (which would be very interesting to assign CV to), etc. Not to get my own hopes up (or yours) but yeah, I'm eagerly awaiting to see if this brings in multiple absolutely killer features to granular (grain chords are already quite tantalizing).

-Can you use volkmires inferno as a delay? To make it behave a bit like tyme safari.
-Also, what samplerate and bit-depth are we talking here.
