PRO/AM Tip

approximately

i fear not, but is there a way (or firmware update) which lets the kermit remember his modes (button states) after restart?!

It's pretty simple, there are only 3 colors and 4 buttons to remember. Considering none of the Harvestman stuff remembers settings across powerdown, I doubt you will see this feature added. If a module doesnt have a memory system in place, firmware cant add one, it would require a hardware revision

I sent a suggestion to the Harvestman / Industrial Music Electronics headquarter to add a new feature in a firmware update.

Having one cycle only would be awesome !!! :hail:
With this feature you could use one section like a Wavetable envelope generator. And this way the Kermit could have it's own VCA and Envelope :D :yay: :waah:

I just dont know if the module can be operate this way but I do hope

Let's say this mode could be indicated by no color on the Led button and just send a Trig to the 1V/Oct :yay:

Kermit is up there with the very elite of modulardom, it's almost in the same league as the Equation Composer, and that's high praise indeed.

Whoa whoa whoa whoa. Slow down there.
High praise indeed!
I believe Equation Composer (and Brainseed) are in leagues of their own.

I've got a Brainseed, and indeed, it is "up there"
But I was wondering? Exactly who is considered to be in that "top league?"
The really useful never to be sold ultra inspiring stuff....I think I can count about five modules in my box...

Jeeze! How could you even think about selling it! :hihi:
It's great buying Harvestman stuff, they are the only modules that fill me with child-like anticipation, like opening presents on Christmas Day, you never know quite what to expect, and they always deliver fun in giant sized amounts.

Thought I better share some audio instead of wiggling bananas around - I have fallen in LOVE

Kermit modulates my Donut Clouds

https://soundcloud.com/kel/kermit

I can't believe how much it changes the character of the Hertz Donut - absolutely essential - these two will never part ways - magical!!

What's going on with Clouds? How is it used in this patch? Modulated by Kermit? I'm still learning it.

I had about half a dozen stack cables coming out of Kermit, there were three main modulations that I thought were critical:

1) Kermit > FM Hertz Donut - never heard the HDmk][ sound like this - stunning and what I always thought it capable of just never really managed to get it there - unplugging Kermit made it sound pretty terrible in comparison - like worlds apart. I picked one tone and didn't modulate but there was a wide range of possibilities by adjusting the waveform coming from Kermit. This was the main modulation by Kermit and the one that melted my mind the most. I am so happy with the possibilities here :)

2) Kermit > Frequency in on Ripples - the main LP4 out went to Optomix - that's what the big pingy sounds are HDmk][ > DAmk][ > Ripples > Optomix

3) Kermit to Texture on Clouds < a smaller role here!

There was other stuff going on with Clouds, but it made all the complimentary noises, setup was something like this:

Band Pass and Low Pass 2 out of Ripples into Left and Right In on Clouds

Wogglebug providing clocked modulation on Position and Size - pure random!

The Blend Parameters were quite high including the Reverb which I had pretty far out.

Then Density turned to the right for random pings!

Cheers :D

I still can hardly believe that the only sound source here is the HDmk][

OK it was split off and processed elsewhere to actually end up with 6 sound signals, but still... I like this way of working!

Here's the rack:

This is why I miss the AFG. It was a billion times better than anything else as the solo sound source. Everything had CV. Everything had audio outs.
Brilliant.
