And MPLAB cannot connect...

My OS is 10.10.5.

During the installation of MP LAB, i receive an error message but installation finished...i can open MPlab and follow instruction but can't connect to pickit and "program".

Any idea ?

I would probably install Windows via Bootcamp or Virtual Box, install MPLAB for Windows and go from there. From what I read in forums the chance that it works is much higher.
Or as I did, go to your neighbors, check it with their computers or lent a USB Hub and try it again.

Good luck

Michael
A little bit more time for making music would be nice

Thanks guys
Yeah I've tried every combo immanigable & no go.
Think it's probably specific to 10.10.5, that seams to pop up a lot on debugger forums! Seen one updated with a Mac & it was smooth sailing, was an older OS tho.
Edit...older OS was 10.9.5

Edit 2...5 mins with a PC, sorted. Windows version of MPLAB IPE automatically updates the picKIT too. Don't know why the Mac version doesn't do that?

Once firmware was updated via PC, is it recognized as a network still under Mac?

Are any of you located in the bay area/SF, CA, USA willing to let me come by and flash my firmware? $50 tax for a poor design decision from harvestman is kind of annoying. I'll bring a 6 pack.

okay......holly shiiit i just did it with pickit2 on mac...

we have to download this app

Lucky that I found this blog ...thank goooddd

this guy might help us in a big time... -->François Gilbert

when you download .dmg file from François blog, read the read me and copy two files over into bin folder.

turn off the power and unscrew and take out the god brain :hail:

insert pickit2 into our master brain Stillson but make sure right way ... wrong position no good maybe...

however, when you insert pickit2 into Stillson then plug usb cable to your mac.

than open up the app

this is what I did

#1 click the "show connected PIC"

#2 choose the .hex file and click the stilson 1.8 .hex file

#3 click test hex--->click write hex---->click run hex

when run hex finished click test hex again after this job done Stillson went back to power off

than take out the pickit2 and put it back our master brain Stillson

screw it back and turn the power on

i saw number 1.800

 :nana:  :nana:

Good luck !!!!!

I found this app developer on Instagram and I chat with him little bit lol

he said this .app was his little project when he was in school about 3 years ago..

and he asked me about what's Stillson Hammer and I explain to him briefly..

he sent me some photos of Pink Floyd tribute concert..two EMS synthi aks, vcs3..MINIMOOG and Memorymoog..he is fan of Pink Floyd :tu:

It could've been wasted all my sunday night for figuring it out how to use pickit2 on mac...

it was like :waah: :woah: :ripbanana:   :deadbanana: and finally at the end soon as i saw the 1.800 :hail: :nana: :nana:

Worked like a charm here! I just followed the instructions per the OP/website instructions. I'm on Mac OS Sierra (10.12.4).

Many thanks for taking the time to walk-thru :tu:
