Industrial Music Electronics 1991X-2 ROM Programmer Board?

Post by digitalohm » Mon May 07, 2018 6:25 pm

Per the SH MK2 manual:

SEQUENCE STORAGE CHIP
The storage chip is a Microchip 25LC512 in DIP package. It stores 32 sequences. You can replace it with
a new chip, and back up the data to computer by using the Industrial Music Electronics model 1991X-2 ROM programmer board and a Microchip PicKit2. Do not insert or remove the chip while the module is powered up.

I already ordered a MPLAB PICkit 3, but what is this Industrial Music Electronics model 1991X-2 ROM programmer board?

Does anyone know a reliable source for the 25LC512 chip? (this is new to me, so apologies if the questions are incorrect).

Is there a way to find the 1991X-2 ROM programmer board in 2019?

I was told no but I can't believe it, there must be a way to read the chip on a computer and save the data.
