I’ve been trying to understand preset morphing on Kermit 3, and haven’t been able to get settings to morph from one preset to another, instead settings seem to morph to other random settings, which is also great and fun but leaves me feeling like I don’t understand what is happening. Anyone playing with this aspect able to break it down for me?
From the manual:
When in PRESET mode, press the preset button again to enter MORPH mode
All controls under the scope of the preset manager are locked and unable to move (the CV inputs will still respond).

Set the “base” preset for the morph by turning the rotary encoder to select.
The base preset will determine the state of unison, channel mode and other button/ menu settings that cannot be smoothly morphed.
When the base preset is changed, these menu-based settings may change depending on the preset data.

Next, apply a CV to the preset CV input.
The presets will smoothly morph from one to another.
These are the same instructions for Piston Honda mk III's Preset Morphing. You should hear smooth transitions between presets.

These are phenomenal. I just ordered my second Kermit mk III yesterday. I’m thinking of pulling out my two mk IIs and putting them in another case. I see you have two BL mk IIIs too!!! Crazy haha.

Some seems to work well in pairs
SH MKII
HD MKII
Malgorithm MKII
DA MKII
BL MKIII

I dream of patches using 2X Tyme Sefari MKII

Ha well really mk I but part of the mk II line aesthetically. Just like BL is mk III not II.

That is commitment there. Haha. I thought about two SH mk IIs. And I did have two DA mk IIs. Eventually I replaced one with a mk I.

holding the tap button to reset the clock signal internally is genius... can anybody tell me how much the clock can be divided / multiplied? It doesn't seem to be mentioned in the manual. very slow synced lfos possible?

I'd love a demo of slowly synced wavetable lfos modulating something, while the position of the wavetable is being modulated with a slow sine lfo...

Can't wait to get mine but will also be keeping my MK2 since it looks like the MK3 can't do the weird PLL thing the MK2 does so well.

Just ordered it finally. Never had the mk2 version. Gonna pair nicely with my Piston Honda mk3.

In the Global Menu the divisions are
/24 /4 X1

I assume and do hope there will be more divisions available and the options to have independent divisions for each channels.
Still there's plenty of possibilities right now.

And I wish there will be an assignable clock or gate output available

Isn't the individual channels frequency control used to adjust the tempo division for each channel?

according to the manual, yes, but I'd love to know the exact clock divisions per channel. dividing by 32 or even 64 would be a dream come true. very keen to see demos of the tempo envelepes as well...

In the global menu the main divisions are
/24.../4...X1

for each channels the individual divisions are
/32.../16.../8.../7.../4.../3.../2
and the multiplications
X1...X2...X3...X4...X5...X6...X7...X8

I couldn't resist and got a second Kermit mk III, I have to take one of my older Kermits out of the case (but still kept one!).

That setup is sick. Wouldn't mind having a few rows of IE modules.

The orange case is my pride and joy. I built it with a buddy, initially it was meant as a 9U with a lid. But my system grew and so did the case. Ha, it actually is stained with my blood (I chose a screw that was slightly too long and stabbed myself). Anyways, I love this case. I have a larger system (I know, that’s crazy) but I keep this by my desk and mostly work from here. I find it inspires me, and the new modules even more so! Scott does amazing work.

Regarding switching out the knobs on the mk I DA. I thought about it. But I just really like how it looks. Ha, I did change the knobs on my Function. I need to change some other knobs, and if I keep the QMMG in there I might see what I can do to make it more compliant with the rest of the case (although now I’m really considering a second BL mk III now!!!). With all of Scott’s new modules, this case is still a ways from it’s final form, but it’s slowly getting there.

I was considering get a PHmk3 to accompany my HDmk3, but the Kermit mk3 looks like a good substitute (at least for the interim) for my wavetable needs. Saves me much needed rack space since I was planning on acquiring the Kermit anyways.

Good substitute. Currently have the PH MK3 and awaiting the Kermit MK3.

I will probably get the HD MK3 at some point, once my friend builds me my new case. :hyper:

had some downtime today, and spent a little time putting kermit through its paces and grabbed a snapshot of what ended up happening.

as best i can remember, 3 separate sequences from stillson hammer mk2 feeding a piston honda mk1, donut mk2 (both primary and modulator) honda and donut 1 into double andore with some whack ass envelope selection, donut 2 into a takaab lpg.

all oscillators submixed down with an antimatter sub ring (a small amount of ring mod between the honda and donut 2 is dialed in on ch. 5) which feeds a king slender.

also feeding slender is a short loop caught in a tyme sefari mk2, which is being told to play by a random gate sequence from stillson mk2 and is flipping between fwd and reverse with a stillson mk1, and this hits a polivoks vcf, the cutoff of which is modulated by small (and at times large) amounts of a kermit channel doing code scan.

slender then hits bionic lester mk2. kermit is modulating all kinds of things and is also self modulating via internal matrix.
