Ableton CV-Tools with Harvestman VCOs

Post by liquidsn » Sun Dec 22, 2019 10:48 pm

Just got an ES-9 and playing around with CV Tools in Ableton.

Since Hertz and Piston MK3 v/oct is 0-8V, you have to offset the PITCH coming from 'CV Instrument'. Seems like CV Instrument needs to calibrate and took me a while to figure out that C0 is in negate voltage range straight from CV Tools.

So offset the pitch so its only in positive voltage range then calibrate.

Just an FYI for the future if anyone is playing around with Ableton and Modular. Anyone know if there is a way to offset the pitch inside Ableton so I don't have to waste a space in hardware?

0V corresponds to C0 in Harvestland.

I use Silent Way (from SExpert Sleepers) for calibrations.
Maybe some tips & tricks here:

I am just now trying this with CV Tools. How does one exactly offset the pitch coming from CV Instrument? Is this possible in Ableton or do you mean offset it in the modular?

I’m having a similar issue. I think you need to offset the CV from ableton in the modular before patching into the Piston Honda.

EDIT: you can actually offset the signal straight from Ableton CV tools via CV utilities module. I had missed that
