I've been busy organizing the latest round of manufacturing, but I've set aside 2 months this fall for the exclusive development of new devices once everything is built.

A prototype does exist, it's based on a heavily modified Piston Honda Mk.II so it's not much to look at.

The aim of the module has changed: instead of being a huge, expensive thing with 6 outputs, it's now stereo, smaller, and much more accessible in terms of price. I can't promise that something will be shown at NAMM, but by the end of this year I will have a very clear idea of when the SD card-based modules are coming out.

All of the work from 2011-12 in developing the mk.II platform has paid off: new designs are incredibly easy to develop compared to the past. I did the majority of the firmwares for Hertz Donut, Zorlon Cannon, and Piston Honda mk.II in one weekend each, with the small corrections and debugging taking place afterwards in between the physical production of the devices.

Will this still tackle more than one grain? Can I have your babies?

Any other hints at this stage of what other designs you will be developing alongside the granular project?

this is basically the same question that most interests me...
will this be able to produce grain cloud like stuff?

thanks for the insight Governor!

Welcome to the end of 2013. I'd love to get more info on this. Since I got infatuated with the Harvestman ethos, I've been patiently waiting for your take on the granular.

Still interested in this one, although regarding grains and dsp the bar has been sell and truly set by Mungo.

Here's hoping that HM can match that quality, and beat the price to boot

Excuse me but I don't agree with your statement. Fixing it now.

So I presume, according to my limited Harvestman knowledge, that there is more than enough room for kicking ass. If the Guv adds one more grain he has my money. I'd rather buy two of his modules than a g0, with that price and one grain on offer. I like my grains, steeped, germinated, kilned and milled; not spent.

I expect this to be a more full featured granular sampler and not a granular delay like module that mungo offers.

Well i am a big hm fanboy, but for granular i would like something smooth and unglitchy (but glitchable, of course), something that the hm is not especially known for.

Right now i use the computer because there is nothing like that in modular. Closest is the Mungo g0 (not the delay) but yes this is, as you say, a granular timestretcher rather than a cloudmaker. And it is too expensive for me.

But if I were to buy into this, i would expect it to at least match the smoothness of that module (and not, for eg, "suffer" from the same glitchiness as the sefari2).

Well put dear stk, well put. If the difference in fidelity between the TS and TSmkII is of any indication, the Dark Seed might be what we're all looking for.

+1 on this

I guess I'm looking for the same. Smooth, but glitch-able grain clouds (or glitchy but smoothable :D), with FM, and lots of CV ins for grain size, grain shape, spray, maybe even on file selection etc etc... who knows what else the Governor finds out? :)

Dear Governor,

Please show us lots of nice things at NAMM, especially the "high end granular processor".

Love,

I just noticed this thread started 4 years ago. Does anyone know anything that could lead us to believe this isnt a dead project? :sadbanana:

Gotharmans thing (Ive not been paying close attention enough to know the name right now) is the closest thing to what Ive been hoping for for all 4 years since I saw this thread. But I want it in a more Harvestman price range..
