You guys rock so hard! I guess I have gotten better at this etching thing.. i've spent more hours then I'd like to admit tho on research...trial/error methods...chemicals...conditions...chemistry of metals....vendors of metal...etc. I'm still not exactly where i'd like to be but, it's getting there.

Uhm as far as the polish goes..... finish polish on the case was the use of a drill with a buffing wheel (2 different coarses) We actually used aluminum wheel polish for the compound. Earlier on before the finish polish... we were using a hard compound stick that you can find in home depot/lowes or other hardware store. Of coarse... the drill wouldn't get in the cracks, so that's when we turned to a dremel or, polishing rag.. and finished by hand.

I'm working now on a dual panel in copper that's going to fit a sherman filterbank 2.... this i'm hoping will knock people off their feet. Design turned out just.... ILL, and it's going on copper so... we're going to be doing some really gross/evil patina's and blowtorching on it.

Besides that... few other things going on atm. Also starting on 20 more of those api500 modules i did in the beginning of the year (happy customers that come back are HUUUGE in my book... so awesome!)

I"ll keep ya guys posted, I"m about a month and a half out of knee surgery and getting around alot better. SO... back to be being busy with the metal! :)

Just gotta finish weathering the black and whites to the left. I started on the first white one.
The pictures don't quite do it justice.

That's a VERY cool finish kent! It looks like you pulled a panel out of a tie fighter that you found crashed. :tu:

Thanks, DK. That's pretty much the angle for which we were going. Sits well with the 200e too.

Wow.... and I'll be ordering one of these from you with bananas if that's possible. Your piece was one of the first I did for anyone, and used alot of the old ways of etching i had taught myself. Greaaaaaaaaaaat build and the videos are SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICK. Again, i'm not huge on analog sequencers but... daddy's gotta have this one!

SO in other news... I've been a busy panda bear as of late, Almost have the zombie panels finished (should be posting shots of this mf'r over the weekend)

But this past week I had a rush job for a barn wedding up in Wisconsin, and as the clear coat dry's, thought I'd show you guys why i've been pulling all nighters for the past 5 days.

Thanks man!
Yeah, bananas shouldn't be a problem at all.
I really like the idea of having custom panel graphics for each one these beasts. So I should be getting in touch with you soon.

...now back to work ;)

Oh and, those latest pics are amazing! :tu:

Thanks a lot everyone, glad i'm still making people give thumbs up!!!!

Last night, I finished up the zombie panels and cleared them. Should be shipping these out tomorrow morning. I'll really miss these... so much fun making them. From the design to all the hand burnishing and grinding off patina with a dremel.... ahhhhh. I'll post better pictures tomorrow when i get to my good camera :)

I need to repost those zombie pics with the ones from my camera tonight.
Here is the rest of the stuff i've been busy working on as of late :)

Image
I made this for my girlfriend's sisters wedding last week! Turned out neat!

Image
This was for my friend Andy's sisters birthday. She wanted it pink... I had to throw in some smog ;)

Image
Something my brother and I are messing with. This was a silhouette that was done of me when I was about 6 years old! Scanned her in... and went from there.

Image
Made a pair of these for my brother's ex-girlfriend's Halloween costume!

Image
This was for my mom last year for xmas. i had made (and posted) one I did that was my attempt at etching steel. Well.... it rusted away and was tossed in the scrap heap. Here is the new one, hahaha.

Image
Another take on the infamous MINIWAVE!!!!!

Image
Another take on the E350!! Love how this turned out....
