DAY 1: 4 Voice Euclidean Rhythm Generator & MIDI I/O
meatbeatz wrote:I took Danjels original announcement as stealing the thunder from Tombola's Euclidean Seqeuncer thread, especially that it was no where near going into production (15 months ago). Who knows, there may have been a DIY Tombola Euclid Seq out by now if the thread hadn't become all about PT. It's nice to have a peek at what's in the R&D pipeline but sometimes it borders on eating while looking at what someone else is eating if you know what I'm sayin.
Hanging for more info on this.. Meantime I'll be gettin down with Stoichea.
I got the impression that Tombola was not going to build it other than offering the code. He said the matrix and encoders were too fiddly. Finally, he mentioned a simple 4hp version with knobs that sounds like what Rebel Tech came out with. Not to mention that Danjel posted the pic right away so obviously he had been working on it.

I don't doubt he'd already been working on it. The guy has an incredible output. Danjel must have one of those powernap machines. Euro is a competitive bidness and Intellijel is probably the best example of this.. and I'm sure a lot of cats held off on Stoichea in the hopes PT was around the corner. I love the layout of PT and think it covers a lot of ground, but I wouldn't say others i.e. ADDAC have taken the concept and run with it anymore than Intellijel has themselves run with a pre-existing concept or two. Just trying to provide some balance here.exper wrote:I got the impression that Tombola was not going to build it other than offering the code. He said the matrix and encoders were too fiddly. Going from the panel, I think the 402 has an intuitive, well thought out design. Not sure what the "SECNEUQES" 1-4 jacks are for though. Hopefully it isn't a typo but some type of shuffling of the rhythmic sequence.

With regards to offset, I wonder whether you can manually reset/skip each channel to the next clock pulse then save that as a preset? Or are we talking smaller offsets?
Anyway, hopefully the ADDAC402 comes to fruition sooner rather than later. I'll be pulling the trigger on whichever makes it to finish line first.
More info!!! (please)
Hello!
just a few lines to give an update on this module. It is now up and running and starting the first small batch and we still have a couple units left for pre-order, they should be ready in 3-6 weeks!
Also here's an online Interactive Users Guide to give you an idea of what the module will be able to do.

Just played around with the simulator app. Nice module. The only thing that leaves me a little surprised is that the "fills" logic seems to be backward from my point of view.
Say I set a sequence to be 16 steps, and set the FILL to minimum. I get one of the 16 steps being switched on, all others off. So far that's fine. Now the ODD thing is that it isn't step #1 that is switched on, rather it's step #16.
Am I missing something about why that might be the cooler way to have it?
The obvious implication is that if you hit the master reset, you won't have all sequences playing a sound at the same time.
Cheers,
Denis

Hi all!
like we promised here are the new specs for our 4 Voice Heuristic Rhythm Generator and MIDI In Out Expansion.
6 rhythm generation "algorithms / principles":
Euclidean (equal distribution)
Golomb Rulers (inequal distribution)
Prababilistic (predictable distribution)
Game Of Life (organic progression)
Footwork'n (inducted error progression)
Pong (voltage controlled Pong game)
Plus a 4 channel Gate Sequencer Mode with 16 presets.
Add ADDAC401B Expansion for full I/O Midi control plus access to a powerfu midi interface, with:
Midi Sync
5 cv to midi channels (notes and/or cc)
4 midi to gate channels
All panel controls (knobs, switches and push buttons) as cc controls.
All fully configurable with a midi learn feature for easier configuration.
The java simulation does not have the new fetures yet.
