Looks really cool, but I'm not a big fan of just having HDMI output.

I was thinking the same thing... looks like a cool little visual tool to have, but not exactly designed to fit into larger video systems. Wonder if it could be hacked or upgraded to include more output options.

A built in microphone like the LZX sensory translator would be rad.

Just got mine and just about to grab an HDMI monitor to try it as my Apple monitor didn't work.

One thing is that the power button only turns it off, it doesn't currently turn it on!
To do that you have to unplug it and then plug it in again, not sure if this is a limitation of the hardware, seems strange to have a power button that can only turn it off! Hopefully it can be addressed in a firmware update.

I just got one of these and started playing about with its MIDI implementation. I recorded a wee video of it being controlled by the Digitakt:

yeah controlling it via MIDI is the way to go and interesting python scripts for visuals. i incorporate it as a live painting tool but it's a layer only presently

Video Mashup with ETC / Kybernaughty Ikarie EP

Post by Kybernaughty » Fri Nov 02, 2018 5:06 am

Hi ,
this is my first post in the video group - I did a video mashup for my new EP, Ikarie 33rpm, using the ETC and a DVD track mixed on a Roland V4. THe music is from my DPS-1 Octatrack, which also controls the ETC knobs via LFO to MIDI CC. I#ve been plying live with this setup (plus CC Rhythm socpe, BW scope), sometimes triggering with the Octa, sometimes from my Eurorack using a Doepfer A-192-1 CV - to MIDI module. I really love this module! Watch it here:

Another ETC clip

Post by Kybernaughty » Mon Nov 05, 2018 12:25 pm

Hi, here's another clip I made using an ETC, a bw video scope, a rhythm scope and some drone footage I took recently. Everything is mixed together in a V4. The ETC is MIDI-modulated by three LFOs from an Octatrack. Hope you like it :

This looks incredible, especially if you’re a coder.
