Basic video feedback setup using thrift store JVC VHS-C camcorder and another "found at the side of the road" CRT TV (with working blue gun). Audio is feed of video signal plugged into small Marshall amp and recorded with Zoom H1. Mostly 120hz drone with occasional variations. Gobs of reverb & delay added. No post-processing on video apart from fade-in/fade-out.

Thanks. Feedback with this CCD camera and tube TV resulted in a colour scheme somewhat reminiscent of"CGA palette 1".

Pretty simple audio visual patch I made in MAX MSP, incoming audio signal is processed by dividing the frequency and registering volume changes. That data is then sent as CV to different effects, I did a bit of manual control but the majority of it is self generating. All the video is from short clips I've taken while travelling. Just used one of my favourite tracks by Wire for the audio in.

KRON video

Post by samn » Wed Aug 24, 2016 4:48 pm

Hey, my band KRON (i play LZX exclusively in it) put out a "live" vid. I swear we tried to make playing a synth look as fun as possible :hihi: check it out!
Edit: If you're wondering why I'm spanking my synth its because I have the doepfer theramin hooked up to CV control LZX parameters.

I finally got some BSO modules - Scanner and Triple Video VCA. Also new is a TBC, used here for some subtle feedback.

Finally recorded myself doing video stuff. Dave Jones MVIP modulated by tempo sync'd voltages in the rest of my euro rig.

Starts off very low and slow. Do not crank your volume.

Wonderful! I need to get my sound-making stuff sorted so I can add soundtracks to my vids. I love noise-walls. Thanks.

Mirrored still from a video feedback session scanning over itself horizontally via After Effects over audio from mostly matrix-mixer feedback with an occasional touch of MS-20 and some SQ-1 sequenced ARP Odyssey (reissue) for dessert.

Continuing today with simple animation and synthesis. Next step will be some midi cc and maybe some cv/gate experiments.

More feedback fun. CCD camcorder w/dirty mixer (can't remember what the 2nd signal was-probably test pattern generator) and CRT tv.

All sounds created with audio feedback in separate session using:

3x3 passive matrix mixer
Tokai TFL-1 Flanger (possibly broken)
Sanox 128SX Phaser (possibly broken)
Boss DD-5 Delay (fully functional)
Boss SE50 (for reverb)
Many patch cords
Recorded with Zoom H1 in front of 2 small guitar amps.
4 takes stacked into 1. No other post-processing.

Goofing around with video feedback processed through After Effects kaleidoscope effect. Audio from same matrix mixer/pedal feedback set up as previous video.

Just posting in here to say that I really enjoy quite a few of these videos. I've been thinking about dipping my toes into video mangling for quite some time, but haven't gotten a clear grasp of it yet. If there was a sampler module out, I'd jump right in, I imagine.

Anyways, just writing to say keep it up, and I wouldn't mind someone posting patch details on what kind of modules and gear you're using. :)
